Movie Review: Jeremiah Johnson: a note on the theater

Just a note about this wonderful movie. I saw it when it first came out. JEREMIAH JOHNSON the title page screamed, "with Robert Redford" next in small fonts. A few years later I was back at the theater to watch it again. ROBERT REDFORD the title page screamed, "in Jeremiah Johnson" next in small fonts. This movie (and a few others) had introduced Robert Redford to the world.This movie should be appreciated by every movie lover. Among other things, it demonstrates how words, if chosen carefully, can be memorable in their sparseness.
Movie Review: One of the great classic westerns

Forget all the cowboys and indians stuff, redskins biting the dust etc. This tells a story the way it really was. The hardship, the struggle, the beauty and the ugliness of the old, pre-civil-war west. Here is an honest, beautifully photographed reconstruction of a true - if exaggerated - story of a real-life mountain man, John Johnston, who became a legend in his own lifetime. So, for that matter, did old-timers like 'Bear Claw' Chris Lapp, Del Gue, Swan and others. They all lived. They're all here and they're all honestly portrayed.Movie Review: mesmerising reasure

i remember first watching this movie about 4 years ago on a wet saturday afternoon there was nothing on the telly and i was too tired to go for a run and i thought id give this one a go even though the title sounded dodgy ,well from the moment it started to its conclusion i was gripped ,what a brilliant movie , i would highly recommend this film to those who liked dances with wolves and the excellent outlaw josey wales .an underatted masterpiece ,watch itMovie Review: Jeremia Johnson

This is an excellent DVD. Jeremiah Johnson has always been my husband's and my favorite movie. Robert Redford and Will Geer are excellent in this movie. The scenery is beautiful..all shot in Utah, Robert Redford's territory. The narration, the music, etc., just makes this a great film. We had worn out our VHS version, so it was great to get this on a high-quality DVD. If you enjoy mountain men movies, this is still the best one out there.Movie Review: Jeremiah Johnson

This is, hands down, one of my fovorite movies of all times. I've seen it at least a dozen times and never tire of it. It's a beautiful story, set, I believe, in the late 1800's/early 1900's about a man born in the East who is drawn to the mountains of the West, to live as a "Mountain Man". If you are into that period of history, and the lifestyle of a Mountain Man in that period of history, you'll find it to be a wonderful movie.
