Movie Review: pleased with purchase
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this for my son and it showed up in a timely manner and was exactly what the description stated it to be.

Movie Review: An improvement on 2 and 3...that's not saying much

I am NOT reviewing the DVD. Just the movies unless otherwise stated.

Please note that the rating above might not accurately reflect my thoughts, you will see a rating sentence at the end of the review.

You may notice that this is in a different style of review. I have started taking notes.

So, positives and negatives...Well, to start off, I swear they chopped off John Williams |)1(K and shoved it up his @$$. His music is featured in no more than one scene. In fact, that's a problem all the Jaws sequels have. And, it completely ruins the suspense scenes. You just don't care if somebody gets eaten. In the original, even just a civilian that only appears in one scene, you actually care because of that awesome J.W. music! However, unlike Jaws 2, this film is very visually entertaining. Colorful and bright, and set in the Bahamas. However, the flashback scenes are artsy, however crap and hard on the eyes. Some scare scenes are very well done, but those are the ones that don't involve a SHARK! The Moray Eel was the scariest creature. Yeah, I bet people aren't gonna see this movie from that last sentence.

Well, at least they tried, I can tell they were inspired by Spielberg but didn't really understand how to pull it off. Now you wanna talk about the storyline and plot? Well, the plot is very cliche however unlike the first two, it is not annoying. It actually gets you interested. Or does it? Well it should, but like the middle 2 Jaws, it is extremely unapparent in 2/3rds of this film. So, it's extremely slow and hard to follow. It also has a bad sense of time. It's supposed to take place when SPOILER ALERT Captain Brody is dead. Now, that did make me sad, but this is 12 years later made from the first Jaws. The age of his widow and him dying from heart make it feel like a 40 year difference, meaning this would take place in 2015? Forget 2001, forget 2010, the new film 2015: Jaws in Space arrives in theaters 2/7/9000!!!!

Anyway, the storyline is familiar and refreshing, but I just can't concentrate on it!!! This film contains some references to the original Jaws, which are cool but don't make the movie any better. This movie also has a real odd couple, a grandma and a young pilot. Just doesn't seem right IN MY HEAD! That was also only present in one scene, so why didn't they just go without it? The shark? It remains flipping awesome, both in appearance and abilities. I just love this guy, he's always been in the series, and he's always awesome. He just seems so Bad@$$ to me. The characters are very disposable, just like the other ones. Only this time, you actually wish they weren't. You actually want to be attached to the characters, but you just can't because of the non-existent storyline.

There are plot holes, but they are very unapparent, plus, there are only 1 or 2. And they are far between. Now, there is some sort of mystery, as if "has it been the same shark in all the movies?" Which, they did try to carry out through the entire series, but it's so unapparent (like nearly everything else,) that you really don't care that much. What's allowed to remain smart as far as characters go is contained, however, in a monster movie, no matter how intelligent, you gotta have bad characters. The outdoor backgrounds in the final scene do look fake, and it could have ended a scene earlier. However, it's an okay ending that isn't terrible. Overall, an improvement on the first two, but that's not saying much.

The Rating? 3.63/5

I, Da Ca$hman signing off.

Movie Review: JAWS THE REVENGE
Summary: 4 Stars

Once again, the peace of Amity is destroyed by a blood-thirsty shark. LORRAINE GARY reprises her role as Ellen Brody.

Ellen's younger son Shawn gets a message from his police job that there is a board stuck on a channel marker in the water, and he has to take care of it before the sailors come back from fishing. He takes out a small boat to remove the piece of wood. As soon as he gets out to the channel marker, an all to familiar great white comes out from the water and kills Shawn.
Ellen's other son Michael (Lance Guest)comes to visit her after Shawn's death. Michael suggests that Ellen should come to the Bahama's with him and his family for Christmas. After they all arive at Michael's house, Ellen has a awful dream that the Great White is killing her. There, she meets a carefree airplane pilot Hoaggie (Michael Caine) who tries to make her take her mind of the subject.
Jake (Mario Van Peebles) and Michael have are out doing there job as biologists and come across that the great white shark that killed Shawn has followed them there.

At an art convention, Michael's wife Carla (Karren Young) recieves an award for a sculpture. At the convention, Thea (Judith Barsi), Michael and Carla's daughter goes out on a bannana boat (A big, rubber like bannana thing that is pulled by a boat). When they are out there, the great white comes out of the water and bites a young woman right off the back of the boat.
Ellen walks away from the convention pushing people out of the way, when she takes Michael's boat out named Neptune's Folly. She has set out to destroy it once and for all. When Michael, Jake and Hoaggie find out that she is gone, they set out on the plane to find her.
After they find her, Jake gets pulled of the boat by the shark while trying to put an electric devise in his mouth. Michael shocks in when Ellen steers the boat. The shark comes out of the water, when Ellen is thinking back to when her husband says from Jaws One "Smile you son of a....."! And she turns the wheel hard and rams the pole on the front of the boat right into the shark.
Jake floats back up (really bloody) and they all swim back to shore.

If I where you, I would get this film. Adleast for all of the Jaws fans.

AND DON'T FORGET,
THIS TIME...IT'S Review: I Like This One
Summary: 4 Stars My review title says it all. And do you know what makes this better than II? THERE ARE NO SHRIEKING, SCREAMING, NO TALENTED... (wait for it) TEENAGERS! To be honest, I don't know what people are complaining about, this was an enjoyable film. I don't find a shark out for revenge against one particular family an impossible, implausible plot device. "Twister" made no sense (attach leather belts to a pipe and hold on real tight and you'll be safe, and heck, you'll also get to see the inside of the dang thing!) and yet that made money. A shark roaring? Who cares? If we were scientifically correct in every single film, all the outer space fight scenes in "Star Wars", "Moonraker" and "Star Trek" would be completely boring without the lasers and explosions to accompany the scenes. Same thing goes for the shark traveling from New England to the Bahamas (and surviving) in a short amount of time. Though two things did detract me, however, and I'm sure this first thing has been said before; how can Ellen Brody have flashbacks to the beginning of this movie when she wasn't even present for those events, let alone her having flashbacks to the events of of her husband shooting the shark from the first movie. Second, how the shark died. Now before I get negative remarks, I did do my research on this and all the Jaws films, so I do know about how there was negative audience reaction to the character Jake dying, but I digress. When I saw this movie on TV, there was opening narration as the shark made its way into the town and, I can't really remember but I swear there was a different ending. The shark's head still explodes but it wasn't by ramming the boat into it (and seeing the shark and boat model). Why have two slightly different versions been released? I don't know but now I have to tape this movie again just to make sure I'm not crazy. So just to repeat myself, THIS WAS NOT A BAD MOVIE, this was the reason movies were made, as escapist fun and, if we want, alter the laws of the universe so the movie makers can do their job!

Movie Review: The athlete's foot of shark movies...
Summary: 4 Stars

If you like bad horror movies then this is your Jaws movie. Dare I say, it might just be my favorite. The first one is absolutely terrifying. I mean it still causes generations of people to be afraid of going in the water. What other movie has that impact? The second one was just trying to capitalize on the first one. The third one was gimicky with some pretty bad 3D effects. And then there's this one.

It's full of inconsistencies and just absolute non-sense. Just read the other reviews. They got it right on. But this movie has a charm that just appeals to me. As a kid it was my favorite because it almost plays like a cartoon. The roaring shark. The sharks ability to stand on end. The fact that during most of the shark chase sequences the cables and track are clearly visible.

But I think what makes this movie appealing is actually how bad it is. If you rent Shark Attack 2, or Sharks in Venice your expecting crap. Jaws the revenge is like a pleasant surprise. Sure the first time you watch it, your mouth is agape by what you are watching. But after that, it grows on you. Like athlete's foot. Sure it itches, but it feels so good to scratch it.
