Movie Reviews of Jaws 3

Movie Review: Jaws 3
Summary: 4 Stars

If you like the Jaws series, you'll love this one. Although J1 & J2 are the best, this one is still a winner. The DVD was the quality that I expected. The seller did a great job at packaging the product. Arrived in perfect condition. Highly recommend!

Movie Review: Not bad for a 3rd sequel
Summary: 4 Stars

I saw this movie yesterday and it is really good. Part of it was 3D and part of it wasn't. Some of it scared me so much I left the room!! Great film, if you think about it. For my rating, the fourth Jaws was good. Keep shopping!!!!

Movie Review: Jaws 3
Summary: 4 Stars

As a kid I loved this silly movie, specially being in 3-D. Now that 3-D is back I'm so excited to own this movie.

Movie Review: Oh, how the mighty have fallen
Summary: 3 Stars

I loved this as a kid, in fact, it was my favorite of all the Jaws films. Most of us at a younger age could care less about story and characters, and in this case, want to see some great Shark horror action. The idea behind this film was genious in that sense. What better way to get lots of helpless people within easy grasp of a giant shark? Put them in the undersea kingdom at Sea World, inside underwater glass walkways. The scene scared me nearly to death as a kid, when the crowd is running down the walkway with the shark chasing them and breaking the glass soon after. Though nobody gets near the shark, but the people do get stuck in flooding waters for some time. Today, watching that scene is embarassing to think I used to like it, but we all have to grow up at some point.

Everything from the prior films is lost in Jaws 3. Everything except a few returning characters - Mike and Sean Brody, now young adults, with Mike an employee at Sea World and Sean visiting from Colorado. The actors have changed though, with Dennis Quaid playing Mike. But a fine actor such as Quaid can't save this film. The idea, is teriffic, putting a huge shark in the middle of a tourist trap, but the execution is not quite there. This is supposed to be Sea World in Florida, but it doesn't make much sense to me that it's connected to the ocean in the film. Oh well, one of those things we'll just have to accept. It takes some time (about 40 minutes) for the characters to realize there is a shark in the park, and one of the best parts of the film is that the shark they find is only a baby (though appearing menacing enough). The real shark (mommy!) eventually reveals her 35ft. self, which was a bit ridiculous if you ask me - just too big. The shark moved worse than ever - very mechanical and looked horrible in nearly every scene. And it even growls! Whoah, what kind of shark does that? Even the horror elements aren't very scary, though they easily could be (such as the forementined people in the underwater walkways), but all the visuals look pathetic. Though it was all originally intended for 3-d, we're forced to watch this minus that, resulting in the poor effects. One of the scariest parts of the film for me, or rather more intriguing, is when we get an "in-the-mouth" view of the shark attempting to swallow Philip Royce, almost felt as if the viewer is being swallowed him/herself.

This is a fun movie overall, and even a guilty pleasure and late night popcorn flick - but it just can't be taken seriously. It's a great sequal in the sense to takes things to a completely new setting with Sea World, but everything else makes it sad that they even put the name Jaws on this.

Acting - 3.5
Characters - 3
Horror - 2.5
Story - 3.5
Overall - 3

Movie Review: Jaws 3
Summary: 3 Stars

I'd like to start off by saying that I am a huge fan of the Jaws series. The original Jaws was a classic and Jaws 2 was just as good as the original. Then comes Jaws 3...and this movie is actually okay! I don't understand why everyone hates this movie so much; its not half as bad as people say it is. It actually tries something DIFFERENT by taking place in Sea World, Florida this time, and not Amity Island (as in the first two movies).
The plot involves Mike Brody who now works at Sea World. Sean (Mike's brother)comes to visit just as Sea World is about to open its new undersea exibit. A 10 foot baby shark gets into the park, and then it 35 foot mother also gets in. The baby shark is captured, but when it dies, it's mother reemerges and goes on a killing (or should I say Eating?!)spree. Mike and his girlfriend, Kay try to stop the shark.
This movie is pretty cool. The acting is decent and the story is also very interesting and ORIGINAL. The effects are okay, considering that the movie is supposed to be viewed in 3D, not regular old 2D. The mother shark looks great with her curling lips just like a realy great white! The effects aren't as good as in the first two installments, but they are still pretty decent; you even see a shot of the entire shark swimming, which is something they couldn't do in teh first two movies! This movie has its flaws, but it is still very enjoyable. It is not nearly as good as Jaws or Jaws 2 (both classics), but this is still a fun movie, and a worthy edition in the JAWS series. It has great moments, and it keeps your attention. Overall, this is an awesomee movie. Though not as good as the first 2 Jaws movies, it is the last good Jaws movie and probably the LAST GOOD SHARK MOVIE ever made. Other shark movies like Deep Blue Sea, Red Water, and Open Water were all horrible. I only wish I could have seen this movie in its origional 3-D format, so I would be able to appreciate it more. It probably would be much more enjoyable, and the effects would probably look WAY bettter. I give this fish flick 3/5 stars. It will STILL keep you out of the water...
(*CATTION: If you do indeed find this movie to be "bad" do not even attempt to see Jaws: The Revenge. You may recall I said I was a fan of the series, but Jaws: The Revenge is horrible; one of the worst movies ever made. If you don't like this, you will absolutely hate the next one. Believe me it gets much worse if you think this flick is dull. JAWS 3 should have been the last installment in the series...*)
