Movie Reviews of Jane Eyre

Movie Review: Sensational version! Available from Amazon.com
Summary: 5 Stars

This version came out a couple of years ago and was panned by some of the troglodyte critics that I read so I passed it up. I regret that.

Only recently did I find a copy and watch it through. I was astonished!

The performance by Charlotte Gainsbourg as Jane is outstanding. I could not take my eyes from her when she was onscreen.

Rarely have I been so captivated by an actress. Hurt's performance by contrast was was good but routine. Why

do American actors have so much trouble playing Englishmen? The only exception I can think of is Edward

Norton. Perhaps what the British say about us colonials is true.

If you love period piece films, asI do, don't miss this one. It's available from Amazon. com.

Movie Review: Jane Eyre and William Hurt
Summary: 5 Stars

I have to admit that I have been a Mr. Rochester/Jane Eyre fan since I was a teenager. I have read the book for school and many times over since then and still go back to it. When I found William Hurt playing Mr. Rochester, that just added all the spice I needed to enjoy this lovely book/movie.

Jane Eyre is a poor, helpless child who is mistreated and deceived and sent to a home for girls. She grows up to be a governess and falls in love with her employer. On her wedding day she finds out that he is married and she leaves him without preamble. She returns to be by his side in the end and understands his story.

Everyone has a story even the people we think are high and mighty and untouchable. This is a never ending love story for women everywhere. The book is a must too.

Movie Review: What's Wrong With Lking All The Different Movie Adaptations?
Summary: 5 Stars

I have seen three movie versions of Jane Eyre which includes, The Timothy Dalton and Zelah Clark version, the Ciaran Hinds and Samantha Morton version and this version with William Hurt and Charlotte Gainesburgh and I loved them all!

I have room in my heart and memory to love, anjoy and apprectiate all of the different movie interpitations and I think in this version that William Hurt was wonderful and I don't give a fig that he has blond hair instead of dark hair and I enjoyed his performance and also Charlotte Gainsburgh as Jane.

She may be a touch too pretty to play a Plain Jane but her performance was perfectly wonderful.

I own the DVD's for this version and aslo the Dalton version and since I aslo loved the Cirian Hinds version I will also be buying that DVD!

Movie Review: The Best Version
Summary: 5 Stars

Although missing a few parts of the book it is still a good movie. Also unlike previous versions the charactor of Jane Eyre is neither very beautiful nor very ugly she is plain which is what Charlette Bronte had discribed her as. I think that this movie is good for people of all ages probably females would like it a lot more because it is a dramatic romance so it is hard for men to cope with. Also children could see it but they would probably not enjoy it as much as adults do because of the fact that it is a movie that requires you to pay attention in order to grasp everything that has happened. I hope that this review has helped you in making a decision about the movie Jane Eyre also I recommend the book to all people everywhere it is such a great book.

Movie Review: Lovely!
Summary: 5 Stars

I haven't read the book yet so I can't compare the movie to the book but I watched this William Hurt/Charlotte Gainesbourg Jane Eyre movie and well I liked it. Okay I will admit that William Hurt's attempt at a British accent wasn't that good but I think his acting was great and I thoght there was tons of chemistry with him and his co-star Charlotte Gainesbourg. BTW: There are some people who don't seem to get it that the character of Jane is not susposed to be beautiful or ugly she is susposed to be plain. There is a big difference between someone being plain and someone being ugly and anyway I think beauty is in the beholder, and I actually find Charlotte to be pretty. Pretty in a more plain, unadorned type of way.
