Movie Review: great double feature

I purchased this double dvd because i really wanted to see the Sally Hemings story but felt the Women of Camelot would be interesting to see as well. Niether movie dissappointed. First, it was intrigueing to finally see the story behing Sally Hemings and Thomas Jefferson. Based on the movie, he really loved and adored her and she him but it was taboo for that relationship to be public. Despite the age difference, Sally was strong willed and unafraid to be who she was. She defied her and his family, friends, and anyone who wanted to stand in the way of their relationship. The acting from all was superb, especially the lead characters including Dianne Carroll. The movie was touching and felt it was well worth seeing. In regards to The Women of Camelot, another great movie. Seeing this, made me appreciate and understand what the Kennedy women endured. The acting was excellent. I loved how all three women were so different in personalities but strong in their own way. Ethel, was flamboyant and loved being the center of attention. She was somewhat of a matriarch and expressed her opinions on everything but meant well. Jackie, just the opposite of Ethel was less flamboyant, more subdued, but still no pushover. She was silent at appropriate times, but stood her ground when she was displeased, especially with the kennedy family. Joan, was more timid and not as self assured, but she showed her strength by being able to support and step up when she had to rise to whatever occasion. Despite her struggles, she found her way and showed her strength towards the end. Each movie plays on its own dvd but its packaged very conviently. For all those that enjoy history as i do, both movies are highly recommended!!
