Movie Reviews of InvincibleMovie Review: Move over Titans Summary: 5 Stars
This is another hit sports movie from the movie Company that brought you Remember the Titans. This movie has some mild footbal action and mild language in it should be fine for those age 7 and up. This movie takes place in 1976 about Vince Papale a 30 year old bar tender who gets chosen to play foot ball for the Philadelphia Eagles. This movie is an inspiration for any one thats every had a dream to do something even if it's somethin cheese like running a noodel cart. Not only does this movie symbolize the the courage and hope of man it shows understanding and faith as well in yourself and others. This movie will have you beliving in miracles. If you enjoy this film you should also see Remember the Titans, and Rudy.
Movie Review: Like the movie, but I have to point out ... Summary: 5 Stars
Loved the movie. Solid sports film.
Now, I just have to point out the obvious which .. I just needs to be pointed out.
The scenes at Texas Stadium are wrong. First, it shows luxury boxes rimming the top of the stadium. In 1976 there weren't luxury boxes rimming the top of Texas Stadium. It was open-air. Secondly, the turf in the movie is the modern "field turf" that resembles real grass. In 1976, Texas Stadium had astroturf (or tartan turf).
Now, this shouldn't detract for the movie. It was just something I noticed right away.
Get the movie. Add it to your sports collection.
Movie Review: Wonderful story Summary: 5 Stars
Inspired by true events, Mark Wahlberg plays a tenacious Vince Papale who is down on his luck and barely employed. Kicking him when he's down, his wife abandons him, leaving a nasty letter behind telling him just how big of a loser he is. Vince certainly feels like one, until his friends encourage him to go to open tryouts for the Philadelphia Eagles. At thirty years old, it's an uphill dream, but one that Vince tackles with bravery and lots of heart. He helps himself stumble forward while enabling his teammates to re-discover the power of determination. Very inspiring tale!
