Movie Reviews of Inuyasha - Season 1Movie Review: The Jewel of Four Souls... Summary: 5 Stars
was a dangerous item. In the hands of a pure soul it could do great good. And in the hands of a evil person, or in the claws of a demon, it could do great harm.
Kagome Higurashi, a ninth grader, gets pulled into feudal Japan, 500 years in the past. There she meets InuYasha, a half-demon, who wants the Jewel to be all demon. But the Jewel has been broken into pieces and now they must search it, for their own reasons, to bring it back together. But even with the help of friends there are other powerful forces out there who wish to collect the shards. Such as the Thunder Brothers, Spider demons, the powerful and smart Naraku and even the powerful full-demon Sesshomaru, older brother to InuYasha, who needs it to use his father's sword.
Yet Kagome is soon joined by power allies, such as Miroku the Monk, Shippo the Kitsune, and Sango the Demon Slayer.
Movie Review: Cartoon fan? Summary: 5 Stars
I have never even heard of Inuyasha until I visited a friend of mine in Canada. We had a movie night and she played a couple of Inuyasha's episodes. I was hooked. But then again, I have always enjoyed watching cartoons like this. So, I went on the internet and searched for more Inuyasha; found the first season. Purchased it and I am glad I did. It is actually a very good one. Even my nieces (5-6 yrs old) and the adults "young at heart" memebers of my family liked this dvd. If you are thinking of purchasing it (and actually knows what this dvd is about), then go for it. It is worth it. If you have no idea, you might want to try and watch it in television first. It has some violent content but I think it is necessary for the purpose of what the characters are trying to do so....check it out. I am really glad I bought it. I hope this helps you.
Movie Review: Brilliantly Fast and Plot Twists Will Blindside You! Summary: 5 Stars
I admit I am a 30 year old female Takahashi-holic. Nerd? Geek? Dweeb? Lay it on me, I don't care! I loved the Ranma 1/2 series in my early 20s and this love affair has lasted far longer than my real ones!! For the past 5 years I have been aware of the Inuyasha series but was so enamoured with Ranma 1/2 that I didn't bother reading it. Last week I picked up an Inuyasha manga for the first time, guiltily thumbed through the first book with a stack of old Ranma's on my lap eyeing me, and fell in love with the Inuyasha series. Still am waiting to buy the newest Ranma mangas when they come out but have been voraciously consuming Inuyasha (3 mangas a day). Maybe when I start dating someone seriously I'll let off on Inuyasha mangas for a while, but till then, my heart belongs to Rumiko Takahashi!
Movie Review: An excellent start to any Inuyasha fan's collection Summary: 5 Stars
The season 1 DVD box set of Inuyasha contains the first 27 episodes of the show. These episodes can be viewed in either English or Japanese. Subtitles are only in English. This boxset is in my opinion a great start for any fan of Inuyasha who wants to collect the episodes.
Specifically, this box set focuses mainly on introducing the main characters of the show. The journey begins! This boxset is nice because it's MUCH cheaper than if you were to buy the episodes seperately. The extras are lacking, but I never really minded because I only bought this for the episodes themselves. Inuyasha is my second favorite anime. The story is very interesting as are the characters. I recommend this box set to any fan of Inuyasha.
Movie Review: As it should be viewed. Summary: 5 Stars
I love InuYasha, and if you love this show, the DVD's are for you! See, when it comes right down to it, with the recap at the beginning and the preview at the end, there's really only 15-20 minutes or so of new content per episode. So, with the DVD's you can fast-forward through the boring parts and go through 4 or 5 episodes in an hour.
However, the real bonus to buying the DVD's is the sub-titles! I love seeing what the characters say before the script is changed to match the characters' movements. Most of the time the words are the same, but sometimes the English audio is really different from the English sub-titles.
There's very little extra-content, but then, I don't really care about that sort of thing.
