Movie Reviews of Inuyasha - Season 1Movie Review: Imaginitive, touching, and funny Summary: 5 Stars
Let me first say, that most anime I've seen, I've not cared for (to put it mildly). InuYasha, however, is a glaring exception.
This is, easily, the most imaginative, the most creative, the most immersive, and the most entertaining anime series I've ever seen. Every episode is a new glimpse into a world of magic and destiny.
Besides the amazing world, the characters are all believable, quirky, likable, and very well-developed. And as for Kagome and Sango, not only their characters are "well-developed", if you catch my drift! Anyway, all the characters are interesting and fun, including the villians!
The animation is simply beautiful, as well. All the major demons and characters have their own look, their own clothes, their own style. There's a lot of nature, and each scene is full of lush landscapes and backgrounds. The fighting is fun to watch, and well-crafted.
This show is not just an ordinary action show, however. It's full of humor, love triangles, and relationships. And when I say "humor", I don't just mean "har har, good for a chuckle". I mean, "burst out laughing every episode" humor.
If you're looking for a show with beautiful animation, hilarious dialog, kick-ass action, and maybe the most interesting cast of characters you'll ever see, then "Inu-Yasha - Season 1 Boxed Set" is for you!
Movie Review: One Of The Best Summary: 5 Stars
If you have seen Inuyasha on DVD or the cartoon network then you already know that Inuyasha is an important set to have in your anime collection but for those who don't know. The characters have such a deep background and such a troubled past and trouble awaiting them in there future.
I bet fans are waiting to see the future of kagome and Inuyasha. There's so many things going on in this story because of the 5 characters it's almost hard to keep up but if your not informed enough Inuyasha is about a half demon half human named inuyasha who was in a deep sleep tied and stapled with arrows to a tree for many years.
A pretty young girl finally awakens Inuyasha from the future named kagome who passed threw with a piece of a special jewel. Evan though it would seem like a coincidence kagome is no normal girl. She just happens to resemble a certain dead character named kikyo and has some powers like being able to see and since the jewel shards plus everyone who knew kikyo are assured that kagome is the is the reincarnation of kikyo.
Threw the season Inuyasha meets up with 4 others and form an almost unstoppable team, the characters consist of Shippo, Miroku, Sango and sango's friend, guard, and transportation kirara which is a like huge wolf or dog. This is perfect for any fan of this series because you save so much cash.
Movie Review: Osuwari! Summary: 5 Stars
The international success of this series says it all. 167 anime episodes, 420+ manga chapters, and 4 movies proves the appeal and superior storytelling in this series. I'm glad to see the price of this set has dropped a little bit (although not much). Viz is making it really hard to not be tempted by the dark side and buy.....dare I say it....fan-snubs. Ebay is littered with them, which is a shame because the people who make this series deserve all the revenue they are *truely* making, which would hopefully encourage them to start the anime again.
But if you are tempted, behold extremley bad quality and/or the worst sub-titling you could possibly imagine are abound (trust me on that, but if you like freaky engrish go for it). At least you know what youre getting buying it legit.
The DVD's in this set are woefully lacking in extras, which I dont understand since the Japanese relases always have tons of extras and goodies. For 80 freakin bucks you would think they would throw in maybe some interviews, line art, behind the scenes, maybe include some of the cool stuff on the Japanese versions..... something worth the money! Keh!
Anyway, if you are an Inu-nut like I am, you will definitley want your own commercial free copies to watch whenever the urge to yell osuwari arises. Plus if you want the original Japanese like I do, well worth it.
Movie Review: Inu Yasha Rules the Manga World!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I am 11 years old, and a Manga Maniac! I'm an expert at drawing Manga and its my faveorite kind of Anime. I first started watching the Inu Yasha series at my friend's house when we were bored. Her mom showed it to us. It looked pretty good, so we dicided to watch an episode or two. But we didn't. We watched 21 episodes in about 5 hours. It hypnotized us, especialy me. I became obsessed! Watching the show without commercials was great because i didn't have to wait through annoying ads. Plus, you dont have to wait a whole week to see the next episode. The TV show is about a young girl named Kagome, who is getting tired of her life, with her annoying brother and grandfather. Then, one day her cat sneaks into the family shrine, a building enclosing an anciant well, and Kagome's little brother is to afraid to go find the animal and calls on Kagome to fetch him. So, Kagome climbes down the stepps into the shrine and grabs the naughty feline just before a demon escapes the well and dragges Kagome into it, leaving the fat cat behind. The well takes her 500 years into the past and she discovers her destiny. I recomend this series to annyone 10+. There is blood, violence ect. In this amazing, action-pact, romantic comedy. Kappei Yamaguchi really shows his talent for expression in this series.
Movie Review: Spellbinding, Addicting, Amazing Summary: 5 Stars
Inuyasha is an original and greatly inspired Anime series. This series and Hunter X Hunter are two of my favorite Anime series of all time. When I first saw that it was playing on YTV I thought that it would be a cartoon show for young kids but it has proved me wrong.
This series is very interesting and I was surprised to see that some parts of it is dark and actually a little creepy. The animation is very well drawn and noticably better than other Animes on TV. The plot is deep with many unexpected twists. I really appreciate the fact that there are no "filler" episodes that don't fit into the story in some way. There is continuation in every episode.
The characters are each have their own personality and sense of humour. There are many laughs along the way. The humour always seamlessly flows with the action, sadness and adventure. The feudal Japanese music is really nice for this show and you can tell that there was a lot of effort put into this series.
I recommend Inuyasha 100% if your looking for laughs, great characters, action, intrique and adventure. You will be watching a show like you have never seen before.
Btw, I watched this in it's original Japanese language with English subtitles.
