Movie Reviews of Inuyasha - Season 1

Movie Review: GREAT ANIME!! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!
Summary: 5 Stars

First of all for those writing negative reviwes shame on you!! This is a review on the ENTIRE season not on a few episodes you watched!! You cant get a good perspective that way....please readers...pay those bias remarks no mind and take head of a real review like the one in the spotlight and my own.

This season is awesome!! At first i was unsure of Inu Yasha having only seen a few episodes and not sure what it was about but then having gotten more experiance with it and seeing more episodes i fell in love and got this boxset of the first season. It is a wonderful series filled with what all amimes should have...action, comedy, romance, and great edge of your seat battels!! No one battels as fine as inu yasha and no characters are more deep than what you find in this series. Each character posses a flaw that contributes to the series and their character making it a fantastic anime.

If you are a fan of the works of Rumiko Takehashi then you are sure to fall in love. Inu Yasha i s a series you cannot go wrong with! I have watched A LOT of anime and Inu Yasha is definatly a favorite of mine.

What is alos great about this set that it comes in the original japanese with the english subtitles which are very accurate in their translation. VIZ is def. a well renowed translator and ditributor of goood anime. You can def. trust thier translations. If you dont like japanese then you can watch it in good ol' english and laugh away as Inu Yasha tries to clobber shippo or tries to understand Kagome. There are no too many special features but you can watch the beginning and ending with out the text which is pretty cool and you get a cast and relationship chart.

This season is great!! Do not listen to those bias twits! They havent seen enough to truly love the series! Before the the ones on this page this box set had a perfect review with 5 stars! Read more reviews if you still need convincing...buut believe me....Inu Yasha is good....no doubt about it.

Movie Review: A Great Series to Add To Your Collection
Summary: 5 Stars

I can't rate my review on the DVD release, I can rate it on the first 27 episodes however.

From "The Girl Who Overcame Time, and The Boy Who Was Just Overcome" to "Lake of the Evil Water God", InuYasha delivers the goods. Smart, funny, and good graphics, this series should be added to anyone's anime collection. And if you don't over enjoy anime shows due to steriotypes like Sailor Moon, Pokemon or Dragonball Z (Dragonball Z is good untill Future Trunks comes, sorry it had to be said). Set in the 14th century(ish) the story revolves around a half-demon, half-human InuYasha who is after the Sacred Shikon Jewel (aka Jewel of Four Souls). He is put under a spell by his lover Kikyo after he steals the jewel from her to become full youkai (demon). However, in order to understand the love/hate relationship of Kikyo and InuYasha you have to watch until atleast about when Naraku shows up. But the story isn't all Kikyo/InuYasha, its another girl named Kagome who happens to live in present day Tokyo. How does she get in the mix? Well after Kikyo died, she vowed to take the Shikon Jewel with her into the afterlife and had it burned with her body on that same day she cursed InuYasha. Well, Kagome is Kiyko's re-incarnation AND contains the Shikon Jewel INSIDE HER. Of course it gets out, and eventually gets shattered by Kagome's arrow in episode 2 sending InuYasha and Kagome on a mad hunt for the Shikon Shards. With characters like Shippo, the demon-fox, Miroku, the lecher monk, and Sango, the demon hunter, InuYasha almost never gets boring.

But my only problem with this "season" is that I don't think it is the whole season. In Japan I believe Season 1 went up to #52 "Demon's True Nature". If they release about half of the season each time then we should get about 14 seasons (because InuYasha the Anime series is over, but the manga lives on) which will add up in your wallet.

Movie Review: An absolute necessity
Summary: 5 Stars

Introduction:
From it's first airing in Japan on October 16, 2000, Inuyasha has been a phenomenal success. The anime was adapted from Rumiko Takahashi's best selling "Inuyasha Sengoku o togi zoushi" (Inuyasha A Feudal Fairytale)manga series, already wildly popular at the time. In the anime's four-year life in Japan, it received top ratings. It only got better from there, when Inuyasha was adapted into the English language and brought to North American soil.
When it first arrived, the series received little airtime, and therefore little publicity or popularity. Slowly and surely, however, fans of Takahashi's previous works (Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Ranma 1/2) found ways to watch this newest jewel from Japan. They quickly fell in love with the creator's last and greatest creation. The show's popularity has since then skyrocketed, making it one of the most-watched and widely acclaimed dubbed animes of all time.
It is not difficult to see why Inuyasha was such a hit, both here and in Japan. Its characters are compelling, its plot is intricate, and angst, romance, humor, action, hatred, sacrifice, and hope are all carefully woven into this wonderful, masterful tapestry. And all these elements are captured stunningly in this boxed set. This is where it all began...

Overall:
A corner stone in any fan's Inuyasha collection. The story is that which you have come to love, all collected together and crammed on 5 disks for your viewing pleasure. The DVD presentation is superb, though lacking in extras. This is a wonderful collection to introduce a new fan to the series or to satisfy a long-time fan. Everyone will enjoy this set. A must-have for everyone.
The bottom line?
Buy this set!!

Movie Review: My favorite anime
Summary: 5 Stars

Story: Kagome, a girl reincarnated from a powerful priestess, falls into a well that takes her back to the Feudal Era, where she meets a dog half-demon named Inuyasha. Kagome had the Shikon jewel, a sacred jewel that gives demons immense power, embedded in her side, but a centipede demon removes it. The jewel is accidentally broken into fragments and spread across the land. The girl has the ability to detect the shards, so the boy and the girl team up to find them, and gain some companions along the way. One is a young fox demon named Shippo who's father was killed by a pair of lightning demons, one is a lecherous monk named Miroku who has a vortex in his hand because of a curse, and the last is Sango, a demon exterminator who lost her whole village to demons.

This anime is original, using elements of humor, action, and romance. The art is gorgeous. Compared to other anime, the art is above average in quality, and the main characters each have their charm. Some of the bad guys are funny or complex, and they can win your sympathy even though they're trying to kill the main characters. As for the music, you can really hear the feeling behind some of the songs, like in Shinjitsu no Uta (the Song of Truth). I have bought the soundtrack. They often use interesting mix of instruments, like a flute with an electric guitar, and do it extremely well. The only real problem is that the series drags out a little. There are some filler episodes that don't further the plot or develop the characters, but are entertaining none the less. I definitely recommend this to anyone interested in anime or fantasy, and others should check it out, too.

Movie Review: Yes, I'm joining the bandwagon!
Summary: 5 Stars

First of all, I am giving everyone a warning about the Inuyasha import boxsets that have 18 episodes each. For some reason, the episodes in the middle the DVD are very skippy though the DVDs are scratchless. I thought it was just me, but I bought a newer boxset and found it had the exact same problem. Sometimes my DVD player would completely stop reading them in the middle. I suggest you have really good DVD player before you buy these disks because they are trouble.

Now for the show. It is one of my favorite animes. I love the very complex plot. There is love, romance, betrayal, carnage, and humor. The show makes sure to satisfy everyone's needs. I especially enjoy the action. Unlike some anime shows I have seen before, there are few if any dumb still scenes in the action. What I mean is the animators weren't lazy when it came to drawing out the fighting.

Another plus for the show is it has great presentation. The animation of characters have been done very well. The music also is very good, it fits well with the different scene moods. And the voice overs are perfect, I have to say. None of the main characters sound dull at all.

I don't want to go too deep into the juicy details so I won't give away the plot twists. All I can say is the DVDs are well worth the money if you don't have the Cartoon Network, or can't stay up really late.
