Movie Reviews of Into the Blue

Movie Review: I liked it...
Summary: 4 Stars

I personally enjoyed this movie. It has thrills and chills and beautiful scenery (and the waters pretty too)... Jared (Walker) and Sam (Alba!) are a hot couple just getting by in the Bahamas. Jared was just fired from his scuba instructing job and so he is now fixated on finding treasure. Bryce (Caan) and Amanda (Scott) are visiting from New York. Bryce and Jared and Sam were friends as kids and Amanda, a girl Bryce picked up the night before, is just along for the bumpy ride. Caan serves as the comedic portion of the film, even when he's serious. Eventually the four strike rich in two areas. They find treasure and they find drugs...a whole lot of drugs...drugs that someone wants back. The rest of the movie from that point on has its share of intesity and it's share of gore, yes I said gore...between the shark attacks there is quite a bit of blood. I was shocked. Regardless, Alba is hot and even Ashley Scott has her moments and the plot is prety good...don't listen to the idiots who knock it, it's a fun movie that everyone can enjoy.

Movie Review: GREAT LOOKING ACTION SUSPENSE FLICK
Summary: 4 Stars

Don't be deceived by the bad reviews. This popcorn film is not meant to be anything more than an involving, great-looking suspense-filled action adventure, semi-romantic, thriller. And it delivers.

Spend some time with beautiful people in an exotic setting. Go diving, find treasure and get in big trouble. Action scenes are thrilling.

Imagine you've been betrayed by a stupid, greedy old friend and his new, coke whore girlfriend. You're beautiful lover is in jeopardy because of it.

And here's a downed plane full of dope and a pirate ship filled with gold and you're running out of air, fighting for your life while surrounded by hungry sharks.

Fabulous underwater photography and lots of taut, tanned skin of both sexes.

This terrific, under-rated flick looks especially good on a big screen. I liked it a lot. Way more than I expected and so did my wife. And she's a very picky movie goer.

Movie Review: Worth it
Summary: 4 Stars

I thought this movie was kind of long and SLOW. But girls if you're fans of Paul Walker, I definitely recommend this movie. There are PLENTY of scenes with him shirtless and HOT. He looks ssooooooo good, it makes the movie TOTALLY worth watching. Over and over and over....

In the movie, the character played by Paul Walker and his girlfriend, played by Jessica Alba are looking for a sunken ship called the Zephyr, which is worth millions. No one believes that the Zephyr ever existed so they think that Paul Walker's character's search for treasure is a futile attempt at achieving wealth. Watch the movie if you have about 2 hours and an eye for the sexy Paul Walker.

Movie Review: Great eye candy makes up for a shallow and predictable script
Summary: 3 Stars

"Into the Blue" met my expectations, but only because I walked into the theater with realistic ones. One can tell by the trailer that this isn't really a great movie. But it is adequate. And can you really give a bad review to a movie that has Jessica Alba either in a bikini or tight shorts and a tight tanktop for 80% of the time? I certainly could not.

And that's where the eye candy comes in, which is this movie's best asset. Eye candy in terms of the sex appeal of the leading characters, but also the excellent shots of the island, especially the underwater scenes. The underwater action sequences and footage is nothing short of impressive. One warning though: the shark attack scenes are quite graphic and explicit, on the same level of goriness as the shark attack scene in "The Beach." Those who are overly squeamish are advised to look the other way during these scenes. But don't let that stop you from seeing the movie...there are only a couple of them.

I would recommend "Into the Blue" to:
-any Jessica Alba fan
-any moviegoer who doesn't mind putting their brain on neutral and enjoying the ride
-fans of underwater action flicks

Not a must-see, but entertaining for what it is.

Movie Review: Into The Blue
Summary: 3 Stars

For the first half, the plot of Into The Blue is basically a remake of The Deep without the Robert Shaw character. Two diving couples discover the wreck of the Zephyr, are hampered by the proximity of a sunken plane full of illegal drugs. The second half is more cat-and-mouse action between the divers and the drug dealers. There's just enough action, suspense, and intrigue to recommend it as a three-star movie; but if you love the water (the sea, boats, fish etc.) but can't get there in person (like me), it's a four-star movie because of the considerable underwater photography. There's nothing profound or original; just some nice escapist scenery and suspense.
