Movie Review: Just as relevant today as 50 years ago.

Inspired by the "Scopes Monkey Trial", "Inherit the Wind" is a great courtroom drama as well as a study in religious fanaticism and dogmatism. The movie has a great cast. Both Spencer Tracy and Fredric March are great in the leads, and Claude Akins stands out as the town preacher. This movie may be 50 years old but it's (unfortunately) just as relevant today as it's ever been. Highly recommended.Movie Review: Totally A Classic. A Must See For Young And Old

Inherit The Wind has to be one of the best acted movies i have ever seen. Frederic March and Spencer Tracy give performances that are not seen on the screen today. This movie not only entertains, but delivers social commentary for both sides of the fence. The performances are so subtle, you really feel that you are there in the courtroom with them. A must see. Wonderful acting. While many have pointed to its historical flaws, much of the courtroom testimony was taken from the trial records. If you have read them you will know that they mixed up the sequence of some of the remarks, but kept much of the testimony intact. There is also the fact that Clarence Darrow did dominate the proceedings and that W.J.B. was bombastic self absorbed.Movie Review: Some things never change do they?

I liked this film as it tell a story that will never go away. When two trains of thoughts and opinions collide. I think that the debate over evolution will never go away just like the issue of abortion. Anyway this film shows this conflict in a brillant way. Spencer Tracy was never better and the whole crew earned their pay with this movie! I can highly recommend this film!Movie Review: The Monkey Trial

The trial that ligitimized the THEORY of Evolution. I saw this one in the movies decades ago, and it was worth buying to see again. I add these types of historical movies to my collection for generations to watch when I am gone.
I wish the trial would have ended differently, but that would not reflect the historical record.
