Movie Review: Its A Camp Thing!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

If you dont like this movie, if you didnt get the humor, you probably werent ever a camper or a camp counselor. This isnt an oscar worthy film, the plot isnt mind blowing, the writing doesnt include big words, BUT its a 5 star film anyway. Why? because it rings true to so many emotions and so many real life experiances, so much that it will make you look up old camp friends because you just remembered how much you love and miss them. The relationships you make at camp last a lifetime, they weather time and distance and camp will always be your home away from home. I know many people who met as campers, and ended up counselors together, then ended up getting married and now thier kids go to camp. There is always an "Uncle Lou", the cabins all smell (...), everyone sneaks out and gets "dirty dogged", there is always writing on the walls, there are always pranks, and there is always a "shrek king", . It doesnt matter where you went or when, this is all universally true. That is why this movie is one of my favorite movies of all time. I cry everytime Diane Lanes character is running and she flashes back to when she was racing her husband and she sees him go ahead of her, the kids are cheering, its such a great moment. So if your a camp person, definatly watch this movie, if you are not, watch it with an open mind and heart and send your kids to a camp after words. By the way, I have wrapped the Bell with maxi pads plenty of times it works!!

Movie Review: Fond reminiscences
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie brings to life nostalgic memories of the eight summers which I spent in youth camps in northern Ontario. The cabins, the dining hall, the docks, the lake, the beautiful scenery, the awesome camp director with human failings, and the cross-section of kids who are now bigger but still much the same, all rang true for me. By having the grown-up kids repeat some of the activities and disciplines from when they were young campers, the camp director rekindles the things which the kids liked and disliked about being at the camp so that when the camp director's purpose in bringing them back together becomes clear, the campers can make knowledgable and heart-felt decisions. This is a movie which I will probably watch every few months to help rekindle those fond reminiscences.

Movie Review: Very enjoyable and highly recommended
Summary: 5 Stars

Like many of the other reviewers I saw this movie in the early to mid 90's on either Showtime or HBO and really enjoyed it which is a little odd because normally I watch really dark comedies or horror movies. I probably liked it so much because it brought back memories of being at Boy Scout camp and borrowing the canoes to paddle over to the Girl Scout camp across the lake at night. I won't go into the plot because it's already been covered very well by the other reviewers. I will say that fans of horror movies might be interested that Sam Raimi of Evil Dead fame makes an appearance in the movie as the handyman Stick which is fitting since the first 2 Evil Dead movies contained references to Camp Tamakwa.

Movie Review: Best Movie of All Time
Summary: 5 Stars

I really don't know what it is about this movie that makes it my favorite movie of all time. Maybe it's the easy-going style of the actors, (every scene seems so realistic, check out the "kitchen raid" scene...) maybe it's the music, maybe it's that I always wished that I could have had the camp experience in childhood that these characters get to relive. But there IS something magical in this movie, a feeling that only increases the more you watch it. Who HASN'T wanted to go back to being a kid again for a week? "That's the beauty of camp."

Definitely worth the watch. "There's nothing like a good moose."

Movie Review: I've finally found it
Summary: 5 Stars

I saw the previews for this movie when I was in 8th grade. I wanted to buy it for sentimental reasons. In the movie, 8 friends return to the camp where they spent so much time together growing up. I laughed and I cried. I went to a very small school and there were 8 people in my 8th grade class and we had a fun trip to Washington and I always wanted to go back years later with my 8th grade friends. Everything in this movie reminded me of that time in my life.
If you are wanting a good movie that will make you remember and wish to be young again, this is a perfect movie for you.
