Movie Reviews of In the Crease

Movie Review: Good behind the scenes of Youth Hockey
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a great documentary of the hard work of being involved in youth hockey, both from the player's point of view and the family's point of view. We follow a group of kids from California that play in a Club to the National Champions. The hard work that it took to get them there the ups and downs on the path of winning it all. Great to watch once, but not sure if you would be up for watching much more than that.

Movie Review: Great insight for parents
Summary: 4 Stars

Shows how parents and family give so much to the development of loved ones involved in youth hockey !!

Movie Review: In The Crease
Summary: 4 Stars

Very informative and intersting documentary. Anyone in youth hockey will enjoy this.

Movie Review: The hockey stars listed on the cover have nothing to do with the movie
Summary: 3 Stars

If you were expecting to see Brendan Shanahan in a staring role think again. This is a story of a youth league team striving for a national title. Ok as a movie in that respect but the stars listed on the cover are very misleading.

Movie Review: Way too much talk, very little hockey
Summary: 2 Stars

I purchased this as a motivational movie for the Bantam hockey team I coach. What a disaster. The movie is boring, with over 80% of it being interview clips with parents and players. The individual stories aren't even all that interesting or unusual. My players were bored to death.
The review states that the movie is "Packed with blistering slapshots, big hits and sweet dangles..." Not even close. In the entire 1.5 hour move, there is maybe 15 minutes altogether of actual hockey video. One of my players said, "This is a LONG movie!" Well, at 90 minutes, it's not all that long, but it sure SEEMS long.
Of all the hockey movies ever made, I would rate this one the worst. Hockey is an exciting sport, and this movie makes it dull and boring.
