Movie Reviews of I'm Not ScaredMovie Review: BRILLIANT!!!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
The Scenery.........AWESOME!!! The Children......AWESOME!!! The Directing........AWESOME!!! The Soundtrack......AWESOME!!! As they say, "location, location, location," the most beautiful wheat fields in the world. The soundtrack was nothing short of perfection. The children in this movie were so believable it was like watching a true story, live. The directing in this film left nothing to be desired. I rented this movie from the library and watched it about seven or eight times. I can't get enough of this film, I must own this movie! Now to see if I can find the soundtrack.
Movie Review: Scarier than a ghost story...mesmerizing tale Summary: 5 Stars
This is a hypnotic film, filled with dream imagery and yet it tells a horrific tales, of innocence lost and realities that have to be faced. Not wanting to give too much away, let me just say that the film focuses on a young boy and a terrible discovery he makes, one that eventually leads him to suspect those closest to him, even his parents.
At first the movie seems almost surreal, making it hard to separate fact from fiction. And then...the reality becames almost too intense, as the child discovers that all he has taken for granted may be based on a lie.
Movie Review: remarkable Summary: 5 Stars
Great film with a haunting soundtrack. It's too bad these types of movies aren't typical of US film makers. The one thing I've always appreciated about foreign film makers is their honest portrayl of children and childhood....no fear of sending the wrong message to a paranoid culture. If you love boys or boyhood and can remember your own childhood you'll love this film. It's endearing, suspensful, and stays with you. It's definitely one of the best of the year...foreign or otherwise, and I'm an avid moviegoer with little tolerance for bad films. Check it out!
Movie Review: A great Italian film Summary: 5 Stars
I lived in Italy for a year, I have read the book, I have seen the movie. Wow. This is a great and very artistic adaptation of the book. I am constantly mesmerized by the rolling landscapes indicative of Southern Italy. I also find that many people are unaware of the difference in lifestyle between Southern and Northern Italy. Films like La Dolce Vita portray Italy (Rome, "northern") in a glamorous light, while this film addresses the poverty and corruption that sadly plagues the South. I really can't say enough good things about this film.
Movie Review: I'm Not Scared Summary: 5 Stars
I'm Not Scared is an Italian movie categorized as a thriller. The protagonist is a young boy who discovers a terrible secret in an abandoned house. Despite his family's involvement, he is compelled to do what he feels he must. Beautifully filmed, this movie will move you from terror to sadness and back again. It is extremely well-written and the children are amazing actors. The best foreign film I've seen since Amelie.
