Movie Reviews of House on Haunted Hill

Movie Review: Endearing Ghoulish Classic
Summary: 5 Stars

To this day HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL remains to be an endearing ghoulish classic. With Vincent Price and Elisha Cook Jr. at their peak in this genre piece from William Castle it is truly enjoyable to watch over and over again. This is the stuff that defines the best of this genre and also holds up when compared to any other medium. Also, this is a first rate DVD from Warner, not some inexpensive public domain print. Happy Halloween!

Movie Review: OMG that was funny
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie has a few scary moments but it is really worth watching to make fun of. Me my parents and my sister all watched this together and were diying with laughter, we kind of made our own MST3K thing. The best scene is when the old woman in the basement floats out of the room, we all died laughing. The over all story is not that bad, but the ending sucks. Defenatly worth watching, but more fun to watch in big groups.

Movie Review: A Genre Best
Summary: 5 Stars

Probably the most entertaining examples of low-budget horror movies, "House on Haunted Hill" stars Horror Film Legend Vincent Price. The amazing thing is that low-budget Horror Movies were a mainstay of this time so there were a lot. To say that this is one of the best, says a lot. The story is well written and clever and the macabre is brought to life at a brisk pace.

Movie Review: great late 50's b&w horror classic
Summary: 5 Stars

Great late 50's horror flick, in spite of what the truly ridiculous Amazon.com reviewer says (comic thriller? really??? got to wonder sometimes who writes their reviews!!). Features a very scary haunted house, Vincent Price at his best, a great cast of characters, blood dripping from a ceiling, acid pool, witchy ghost, etc. etc. Highly recommended!!!!! Make popcorn!!!

Movie Review: House on Hanted Hill
Summary: 5 Stars

Yes, its campy horror at finest with Vincent Price as the host. His casting was a stroke of genius for no other person could be quite as silky and refined, yet ghoulish in many respects as the late Mr. Price. Such a pity Emergo doesn't actually come down from over the televison as it originally did. But the movie, without the gimmick skeleton is great.
