Movie Review: FORGET THE REMAKE......
Summary: 5 Stars

You can't go wrong with this classic old chestnut. William Castle presents Vincent Price at his most sinister and debonair as the millionaire hosting a "haunted house party". A group of needy (i.e."broke") people are invited to attend with the ones who survive getting a big sum of money. The house is a veritable fortress with a legacy of evil and murder. Ghosts supposedly roam the place seeking new victims. Blood drips from the ceiling onto the hand of a woman---"marking" her as one soon to die. Carol Ohmart as Price's spoiled greedy wife slinks around telling everyone that Price is dangerous. Elisha Cook Jr. is at his looney weirdest as the lone survivor of a previous "party"-- drunkenly intoning omens of doom for one and all. Richard Long (from TV's "The Big Valley") is the level headed hero and pretty Carolyn Craig is the innocent damsel-in-distress screaming her head off at every spooky turn. The skeleton in the cellar gimmick is still fun. Great to watch on Halloween. And perfectly OK for kids too. But those adults who remember who Castle was and know Vincent Price like a relative will cherish this lovable old goodie the most.

Movie Review: A TIMELESS SPOOKFEST CLASSIC...
Summary: 5 Stars

I was 4 yrs. old in 1959 when this film was first released. When I was 7 my parents with caution introduced me to "things that go bump in the night" allowing me to view "House on Haunted Hill" on network TV. It scared the hell out of me! I didn't care who the actors were, the atmospheric black and white ambiance was enough for me. Not long after I became a Vincent Price fan, admiring his deliciously sinister talents. Later my Brother born in 68, by the time he was 5 we were sitting munching snacks enjoying this film together. That is the kind of longevity this movie has had. I now own the DVD and enjoy it for different reasons, as I matured I began to see the humor in it. I just viewed it again this past Halloween and to me it is as fresh as ever. Pure and simple; Millionaire invites a few finacially stretched guests to spend a night in a supposedly haunted house he rented. He'll pay'em $10k grand if they can make it through the night. This simple premise inspired me to a life time of great Horror/ScFi/Mystery/Adventure/Film Noir and even classic comedy. Whether you pay 15 bucks or 5 this is sure to make an impression!

Movie Review: Classic Horror Film....Fun, too
Summary: 5 Stars

This was one of three movies that used to come on TV back in the mid-60's that scared the pants off of me (Invaders From Mars, and The Manster are the other two). For years, I wouldn't go near an open window at night, because of the 'hanging' scene outside Carolyn Craig's window. And the old lady floating by in the cellar, that still jolts me today. Nowadays we joke that she's rolling by on skates. But, back then, it was real spooky stuff. My mother saw this in the movies back in early 1959, and she was pregnant at the time. Towards the end of the flick, after Vincent's puppet skeleton pushes his wife into the acid vat, she said a real skeleton emerged from behind the screen and floated over the audience. She almost went into labor right there in the theater. That William Castle was a genius. The remake was okay, but it wasn't fun like the original. In fact, it was downright dark and disturbing. The 1959 original is a great movie to have in any classic horror collection.

Movie Review: Price's Best
Summary: 5 Stars

House on Haunted Hill is a classic movie about eccentric millionare named Frederick Lauren and his wife, Annabelle. They rent an old, creepy, gloomy house on a desolate hill and throw a party, "a haunted house party." The party only has has 7 guests, 4 men and 3 women (the same amout of people that have died in the house). If each guest stays all night in the house they each recieve $10,000, "or they're next of ki[n] just in case they don't survive." Vincent Price, Carol Ohmart and Elisha Cook star in this wonderful terrifying classic directed by William Castle. This movie is great because its origional, & they use props like fake heads in suitcases, and organs playing music with no player, instead of computers like the awful remake from 1999. See this movie you'll really enjoy it.

Movie Review: Back When Horror Movies Were Good
Summary: 5 Stars

Another Classic from the master of horror. Vincent Price has done it again. The original or the good House On Haunted Hill is great. The acting is good the plot is good. I love it all.
Made back in 58' this is a story about a woman that throws a party but the party turns into a disaster when the guests start to die off one by one. I love this movie because it is hard to guess what is going to happen next. VP is a great actor in all of his movies and I miss him RIP VP.
If you like those old black and white horror movies you will love this one. Pick it up at amazon.
