Movie Review: Family Values
Summary: 4 Stars
This movie was a bit of a surprise for me, I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. This is one family not many would want to be a part of, they are much more than dysfunctional, it's out-right violent.
Edward G. Robinson once again plays a role made for him. I'm amazed at how often he's played these types of characters but yet they all are their own man, they don't seem streamlined into one person.
The tension the father creates between the brothers, seems so subtle at first, masked behind small jabs the father seems to consider "kidding". But, as the years go by all the brothers pretty much hate each other as much as their father. It's surprising that one of the brothers actually makes such a huge sacrifice for his father by going to jail for him.
