Movie Reviews of House of 1,000 CorpsesMovie Review: Really good movie! Summary: 5 Stars
Give Rob Zombie a break will ya? He had two movie studios turn him down, and this is the first movie he has ever directed! I think he did really well as director of House of 1000 Corpses. It is pretty much what a good b-movie horror flick should be. It has a good bit of gore, freaky little clown men, a good setting, and all in all it is pretty darn strange. The plot is about some teenagers driving through the states looking at strange roadside attractions, and then lead themselves to a house of 1000 corpses, or in other words a house full of freaky cannibals and a lot of corpses, and when I say a lot, I mean it! Doesn't that plot ring a bell? Maybe when I said that you thought of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which is exactly what this movie is based on. But anyways, this movie was well done in many ways, not many mess ups. It brought back the feeling of when I was watching the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th films. I give the Zombie a precious amount of credit for keeping the spirit of good horror movies from the 70s and 80s alive. I hope he continues to make movies like this. It would do the horror genre good!
Movie Review: It's Here, It's Finally Here !!! Summary: 5 Stars
Being a huge Zombie fan i wasn't at all disappointed when i finally saw this long delayed flick. It's like being on the backseat of a car being driven by THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE whilst navagated by NATURAL BORN KILLERS, I didn't find it that gory myself, i found it quite insane and claustrophobic which is a good thing. Others have filled you in on the story round here so i'll let u know that the special features include-Director's commentary, Making of featurette, Trailers, Audition & casting footage and more bits and bats. Disappointingly i haven't found any music videos BUT i have found 3 hidden little easter eggs (one of which is VERY FUNNY). Even the menus are fantastic with 3 characters from the film helping u along and explaining stuff. I don't really wanna go into too much detail and ruin the surprises for ya though. i will say that this has been worth the long wait and is a huge delight for myself a fan of old school horror classics. This one's got cult classic written all over it. BRING ON THE SEQUEL!!!
Movie Review: HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES ROCKED Summary: 5 Stars
I have heard way to much complaining about House of 1000 Corpses. I went and saw with a couple of my friends.I thought the movie rocked. I loved how Rob made the movie so good, had some disturbing scenes, and made the characters completely insane. I mean the scene were Tiny is trying to feed one of the victims is funny. And then Tiny just sits there and eats the cereal himself. I loved the movie. I thought it was funny and scary. But over all for Rob Zombie to FINALLY come out with a kick ass horror movie rocked. I thought some scenes were so funny that me and my friend made two old people leave!! Now,I thought it was funny. If your movie can make people get up and leave cause they are so disgusted by it, that means you did good. So, in conclusion...I give my hat off to Rob Zombie for writing this movie and making this movie and putting out in Theaters! I loved it. And if you don't like it, then maybe YOU don't really watch that many horror movies and don't understand them! The cast rocked, and so did everything else in the movie! I suggest you go rent it when it comes out on DVD and Video!!
Movie Review: Impossible not to like (for horror buffs, anyway) Summary: 5 Stars
If you understand that Rob Zombie was simply trying to make the most f***ed-up horror flick he possibly could, you will enjoy this twisted little romp. You'll turn your nose up at this movie if you interpret it as anything else. The cast itself is great. I was thrilled to see funnyman Chris Hardwick (former host of "Shipmates" and "Singled Out") having a ball in one of the leading roles. Sig Haig is priceless as Captain Spaulding, the foul-mouthed, clown-faced gas station/museum proprietor. These two alone make watching this film worthwhile. But there's also great visuals, an awesome soundtrack, neat-o setpieces, and teriffic make-up. And plenty of blood to satisfy the gorehounds. This is one flick that revels in how twisted it is. There's not much else to it, but so what? Either Siskel or Ebert once said, "It takes at least 3 great scenes to make a good movie." This movie has a whole bunch more than that. You'll remember it long after it's over, and more than likely want to see it again. Bravo, Mr. Zombie! Make another movie!
Movie Review: Inbred cannibalistic psycho hillbillies Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this movie. It's hard for me to find a newer horror movie and actually agree with it's content. I've actually tried my hand at writing a screenplay for a horror film that was floating around in my head for several years. Believe it or not, Rob Zombie beat me to it. The characters were different and the storyline was not the same, but the basic idea was exactly the same. Maybe I'll sit down and continue with that plan some day, not now. Anyway, back to this movie. I'm a fan of RZ's music which is why I originally rented this movie and then ended up buying it. I liked the way he set the time frame back into the 70's. I'm not sure why he did that but for whatever reason it worked. His choice of characters was also good. These two couples get lost traveling along country roads searching for odd places and tourists stops. Their quest for the abnormal and scary leads them down a twisted path straight to hell. They eventually get stuck at the house of a family of psychotic killers who begin to play games with them. Great Horror Film.
