Movie Reviews of House, M.D.: Season Five

Movie Review: Greg just keeps going !
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm about halfway through the season, but I feel like telling anyone hesitating to go for "yet another season of House" that the quality of season 5 matches, if not tops, the best you've seen of it in the past.
Which is quite stunning to me, after Season 4's two-episode finale that left one wondering what they could possibly come up with after such a "TV doesn't get better than that" achievement.
(Let me insist: even though Season 4 has "only" 16 episodes, you can safely go for it - they are worth a 24-episode season by and large.)

Gregory House gets a little darker and a little more permeable to life and people around him as he meets new challenges to his unconditionally self-centered world.

Virtually every episode has a *great* idea to start with.

I really think the writers are putting themselves out there, as I'm sure fans will scream at some of the options and new paths explored - and I think that's bold and that's what a show like House NEEDS.

Still House M.D., the one and only!

Movie Review: HOUSE is still IN the HOUSE
Summary: 5 Stars

Sure, Season 5 of House had the lowest ratings out of the other seasons. Sure, Cameron and Chase had less shots. Sure, some episodes were bad and the drama seemed too fabricated--but the truth is, Season 5 was, in a general term, unique.

No, don't expect this season to be like the others. Season 5 has some lame lines and cheesy episodes, but please remember, HOUSE, MD was meant to be more miserable, more depressing, than it really is comedic. This season grabs viewers by connecting with the audience like never before. We discover through this season that HOUSE is affected by his misery (as you have probably heard about the two-hour premiere of season 6).

Season 5 opens with a bang, is relatively boring in the middle, but picks up quickly right around episode 18. If you want to see an action packed season of HOUSE and the genius Doctor at the peak of his misery, then buy this season on Amazon (because it's the cheapest here, of course).

Movie Review: Best season of any show EVER. "Pencil cup."
Summary: 5 Stars

I didn't get into House until around Season 3... but thanks to USA network, I've been able to catch about every episode since. Season 5 is the best season of any show I've ever seen, especially the season finale. It was even better than some of the Smallville finales (which I didn't think would ever be possible!) :)

There have been a lot of reviews already on this season, so I'll keep it short. Bringing back _____ after _______'s suicide (censored on purpose) was the most brilliant piece of writing I've ever had the privilege of experiencing. And the season ending?! The best ever. I've turned on some people to the House series just by showing them the last 5 minutes of the season ending.

Thank you to the actors, the amazing writers, and everyone else involved in the series for bringing me such TV viewing pleasure! I cannot recommend House enough, especially this season, to all newcomers!

Movie Review: Back on track. A new track! What a ride.
Summary: 5 Stars

I found seasons 3 and 4 waning a bit, but still highly amusing. Still one of the best shows out there. But with season 5, the balanced madness, the I-don't-care-about-the-consequences truth seeking is all on track again.
A new track: higher speed, and at a new level of almost-craziness. If you follow House's logic, you either plunge into madness, or you find that inner censor has not yet been eaten away by his Vicodin.
Great.

Too bad that you can download the episodes online (possibly illegally depending on the country you live in), but are unable to fetch a $2 copy from the official online channels. Also weird that ordering the box at Amazon will lead to a October delivery date. When will they learn not to make the paying customer jump through burning loops like a circus-lion?
I WANT to pay, even after having been able to download it for months. O boy.

Movie Review: House-Season 5
Summary: 5 Stars

I've watched "House" since Season 1 and have purchased all previous seasons on DVD. I love House (probably because he's not MY doctor!) Season 5 is as great of quality as the others. It contains bonus material, including interviews with cast and crew about the 100th episode, which is always considered a big milestone when any show reaches this point. As any big "House" fan knows, Hugh Laurie is British. So it's always fun to be reminded of this fact when he is interviewed and of course uses his British accent. Sound and video quality are great. The packaging could use improvement, as the DVDs are stacked on top of each other, which makes it a bit achward in getting them out. However, this is being done more and more so as to make for a more compact package. As always, Amazon.com does a great job with shipping! I look forward to buying Season 6 when it becomes available next year.
