Movie Review: One of my favorite WW 2 movies!
Summary: 5 Stars
As a person that loves books set in WW 2, I almost knew that I would love "Hope and Glory." The movie by John Boorman tells the story of seven year old Billy Rohan (Sevastian Rice Edwards) and the coming of the second world war changes his whole world. Also in the cast is Sarah Mills and Sami Davis(who would be on the ABC show Homefront, about post WW2 America) This is one of my favorite movies that I enjoy watching over and over.Movie Review: Childhood's magic endures, even during WWII

This is an enchanting film, exquisitely treating with both beauty and wit the uncomfortable truth that World War II Britain was often thrilling for children. Director John Boorman experienced that reality and treats it with affectionate but unsentimental nostalgia. The camera work is often breathtaking. All the performances are first rate but Ian Bannon's over-the-top curmudgeonly grandfather is beyond Oscar-worthy.Movie Review: Springer Grote Style

I've always loved this movie. I really don't know why, but it has to be that my papaw recorded off of HBO years ago and I watched it and it just reminds me of him so much. The movie is British so, its never played on TBS or USA or anthing like that here in the good ol USA. If you are into WWII era type movies its good for the collection. Movie Review: Hope and Glory
Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is about the early part of WWII seen through the eyes of a seven year old boy. It is very well done and the acting is excellent especially Sebastian Rice Edwards as Billy.The movie shows the devestation casued by the constant bombing of London by the Luftwaffe. I'm sure that every person who lived through that terrible time, had their lives changed forever.
