Movie Review: lessons learned in a comical style

Hollywood shuffle is Robert Townsend's comedic look at the crude stereotypes that young black actors have had to face in Hollywood. Serious issues are dealt with, but mostly this is a vehicle for some classic Wayans brothers style sketches. there are probably 30 sketches laced into the movie. I especially liked their parody of Siskel & Ebert's "At the movies". In this sketch, two ruffians sneak into movie theatres & rate movies. They rated a "Dirty Larry" movie, a "Chicago Jones" movie, and the best of all "Attack of the Killer Street Pimps". This movie has a similar feel to Keenan Ivory Wayans' "I'm Gonna Get You Sucker", and is almost like a sequel. If you liked the show "In Living Color", or any other Wayans Brothers movies, you'll want to own this one.Movie Review: F@#$ing Mother's Turkey Jive

This film is a classic. When I first saw it as a kid, I just thought it was funny, not realizing that it had a message as well as being comical. I don't know what my favorite scene is, but there are some classics such as Rambro, and Black Acting School. Keep an open mind when watching this film and try not to forget, in between laughs, that Townsend does have a serious theme about disrmination in Hollywood.Movie Review: If we only could be as talented as Robert Townsend

This movie was side-splitting. I really enjoyed it,especially when Robert waxes rapsodic. I also liked his Grandmother's wisdom. And the responsibility he felt towards his younger brother by not being in a film that only brings more negativity to the black race. This movie was very funny, but also has some very good family value issues in it.Movie Review: Easy 5 stars if DVD had any extras

This movie is an all time classic. A great 'craft' movie made on Visa Card budgets. Funny throughout. Would have been given 5 stars if the company had blessed us with any extras.
