The USA flag has a long and storied history, changing and evolving over the past two centuries as new states have been added. The features in this collection come from rare 1930s and 1940s movies, and have wonderful vintage variations of the American national anthem (the lyrics of which were written by Francis Scott Key in 1814) as well as great historical documentation of the American flag. This is a great teaching tool for the classroom. The Star-Spangled Banner videos (of which 2 varieties are given in this DVD) were used for years in American movie theatres to entertain audiences. Patriotic pictures, footage and songs abound in the two historic films. Of all American patriotic songs, the words to the Star Spangled Banner best represent the loyalty and vigor with which the country was founded. Story of Our Flag (1938) - 10 minutes running time - The Story of Our Flag is one of the best educational videos ever produced about the history of the American flag.
