Movie Reviews of Highway

Movie Review: All in good fun
Summary: 5 Stars

Why on earth am I giving this movie five stars? Its plot is minimal. The script has words and phrases I've never heard, and I'm not sure were ever really used in the real world. And to top that off, it's more than a little unbelievable.

However, despite all of the possible downsides, I really enjoyed it. Honestly, I'm normally not into these kinds of films, but it was just good fun. The humor wasn't disgusting and gross. The chemistry between the actors made the on screen relationships believable (even if I don't ever buy the whole love at first sight scenario), and there wasn't some great moral constantly being shoved down my throat.

All in all, it was just a fun movie to watch, and it's been a long time since a movie simply put a smile on my face.

Movie Review: A Great Ride!
Summary: 5 Stars

Get ready to thoroughly enjoy yourself in spite of envious deviants out there who didn't like this movie! It's full of hilarious, snappy dialogue, awesomely delivered by the likes of Jeremy Piven and John McGinley (in stellar supporting parts) as well as Jared Leto and Jake Gyllenhaal who have amazingly great chemistry together, combined with left of center morality.

If you want to watch this movie because you're a fan of Kurt Cobain - don't bother. However, if you want to go for a frolic in the fields or leave your inhibitions at the door of the "Dan D. Fine", then this movie is a great ride that will not disappoint! (And you'll get all my esoteric references too)

Movie Review: A Funny Surprise...
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a funny roadtrip movie with drugs, hookers, potheads, and good music. The backdrop of this movie is the death Nirvana's Kurt Kobain. It happens during their roadtrip. Gyllenhall was extremely funny as the druggy pothead type and Leto is funny also. The guy from NBC's Scrub's, John McGinley, almost stole the show. I'll never forget the scene when McGinley and Gyllenhall think they're flying through the cemetary. ... If you like Road Trip movie's, you'll like this one. This movie rocks!

Movie Review: Watch this movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this movie to see a young Jake Gyllenhaal. Never expected to see this come from him. I knew he was seen several of his movies......but this is by far the best! He was spectacular! What a role......what an experience.......no way he knew first hand how to portray this guy. Have watched Highway several times now and I know I'll watch it more. His accent, his body language, the dialog.....I could go on. Just watch it.......if you've 'been there', you'll love it.

Movie Review: The best movie I own.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great movie, at first I only bought this movie because it mentions Kurt Cobain and ends up in Seattle at the same time of his death. It turns out this only plays a very small part in why I like this movie. It is just an all around great movie, keeps your full interest. One of the only movies I have ever bought that I had not seen atleast once before I spent $ on owning it.
