Movie Reviews of Highlander - EndgameMovie Review: THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE Summary: 5 Stars
It's a pity this film didn't receive the following it deserved at the box office. It surpasses the original Highlander film and equals the best the TV series produced. Part of that is due to Adrian Paul. Part of it is due to the villain. Part of it to the script, the music and the brilliant sword fights. Part of it to Adrian Paul and Christopher Lambert acting in the film together. There is memorable cinematography and haunting sequences of love, betrayal and death. Unforgettable. Emotional. Yes, even inspiring. It deserves to be on your shelf next to the DVD TV episodes. Of all the Highlander films shown in the theatre there can only be one and this is that one. The only other in its league was the first.
Movie Review: Exciting full of action and moving! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best movie of the saga of the Highlander. I saw it with many reserves because I've read many negative reviews but when I finally watched both versions of the DVD (on the same night) I was left with a satisfying and positive feeling. Adrian Paul was excellent, "Kate" (Lisa Barbuscia) is the best feminine character ever (in my humble opinion she is better than "Amanda" even) It was great to have those brief cameos by "Methos" and "Joe Dawson". Kell was a very "good" villain. My only complaint is that the make up department couldn't achieve a younger look for Christopher Lambert. This movie captures the same feeling and magic of the TV series. Kudos for the producers of this great movie!.
Movie Review: Surprisingly good Summary: 5 Stars
I had heard a lot of things about this movie, including hearing fellow Highlander fans panning this beyond belief. Well, I'm a devoted Highlander fan, and I must say I loved this movie a hell of a lot. True, it's nothing worthy of an Academy Award, but it's the best since the original (God only knows "Final Dimension" was horrible beyond belief), and the fight scenes are great (the best in the Highlander series). I hope they make more Highlander movies with Duncan, Joe, and Methos, or at least bring back the series (I really miss it, the new series "The Raven" sucked). All in all, I was pleased with "Endgame", and the extras included are pretty sweet too.
Movie Review: Here's how it should have been.Highlander 1,series,endgame. Summary: 5 Stars
A friend of mine [got] the director's cut and I must admit it really rocks,it all makes more sense than in the theatrical run.Must people didn't like it because they turned the hero from the movies before this one into a darker and whiny Connor, and that he had less screen time.Well let me tell you that they turned Connor this way so he could be like a dark Ramirez, and this sequel is like an episode that continues the series last episode,Duncan thinking about his close ones,so it's obvious why Adrian Paul is the principal here, but when Lambert appears he steals the show, basically why I try to say is,get the director's cut,sit back and enjoy.
Movie Review: Endgame brings meaning to the series Summary: 5 Stars
This movie definately ties the FIRST movie and the entire TV series together. The writers did a very good job of "re-writing" the movies to make the TV series make more sense. You just have to see it to know. If you are a fan of the TV series, this movie makes it all come together. If you are expecting it to be more of what the original Highlander was, you'll be disappointed. In my opinion, a cult classic was made from a movie that had a definate ending. The second movie came, then the series, then the third movie. They had two different tangants that had to come together, and Endgame brings it all together. GOOD JOB!
