Movie Reviews of Heroes: Season 2

Movie Review: A fun ride!
Summary: 5 Stars

Everyone give Season two crap and prior to seeing it I too was hesitant but I gave Heroes the benefit of the doubt(as everyone else should) and watched it moving all other comments to the back of my head. I was very suprised at the quality of S2. It was fun! Seriously you have Hiro in 1671 Japan working with his hero who has a ability of regeneration to spice things up(just watch what happens when Hiro gets back!). One of Issac Mendez's last pieces of work before he got Sylar-ized shows HRG getting shot in the eye as Claire is with some boy. To top all this off Peter has amnesia and goes into the future to discover 93% of the worl's population will die form a lethal virus. Seriously look at all these storylines and imagine how they all mesh together, what they weave is a epic story.

Sure it's short, less than half the size of S1, that a shame too, seeing how many storylines they had planned(plans included in the extras). This season was still not even remotely considered bad.The acting is still phenomonal and characters relationships and decisions set up for the insane events of season 3. This season was more action packed than season one but not quite as deep as its predecesor, but by no means is this season an embaressment.

As for the extras its impressively loaded, included an alternate ending of what happened if Peter did not stop the virus, something that would have been interesting to see in season one. Don't feel too bad about the lack of episodes(blame the writers strike if you have to blame anyone), because Kring and his band of merrymen have loaded the set with lots of extras.

This is a must have item for Heroes fans!

Movie Review: It's Heroes, how can it not get 5 stars?
Summary: 5 Stars

For anyone who is a true Heroes fan, you will understand that the phenomenon is more based on moving the story along and creating arcs now that will blow your mind next season.

There are still some unresolved items from Season 1 that no doubt will come into play in Season 3. Season 2, although it moved slow, still had enough "OMG!" moments to make it interesting. There were still storylines that worked towards the eventual penultimate closure (which personally, I hope never happens, but its television - it will eventually).

Sure, the season was cut in half due to the writer's strike. And when the season finale actually aired, it was meant to be the end of the 2nd volume and start of the 3rd, which is now "Villains"/Season 3. The episode had to be reworked and granted, was not the most spectacular finale, it still left enough questions open to bug real fans until the return.

If you'd like to follow Heroes and haven't seen Season 2, I urge you to either watch the episodes online or buy the DVD (The DVD includes "lost episodes" so it may be worth your while just for the great extra content). You NEED to watch Season 2 in order to really understand Heroes and get the full experience.

For those posting negative reviews, I say let them. Everyone can speak their mind. But the naysayers seem to be forgetting the point. Rome wasn't built overnight, and Heroes' grand story can't be told in one episode.

Movie Review: Heroes
Summary: 5 Stars

Heroes is one of my favorite series. I find the writing, acting and direction highly entertaining. Season 2 was cut short due to the writer's strike. It could have ruined the series, but so far it has with held the strain of a shortened season. It is my opinion that even though the team behind heroes did an excellent job, you can tell the season finale was meant to be a little later in the storyline. Still, for $25 (or so) dollars, this will make a nice addition to anyone's TV/DVD library. The characters are well drawn out and the actors do a fine job of becoming there character. The one downside to the series; and it can be hard to tell what the exact reason is, whether it is budget related, poor writing/ direction, or scheduling/budget conflicts with the creative parties, is that story lines will at times be rushed through or cut off abruptly that will kind of off set the pacing of the series. This is not yet a deal breaker for my belief in the storytelling, but it can be a little unsettling. All I can say is that stick with the story. This is a good show and from what little I have season 3 it looks like this is going to be a good show with a long run. Plus with this type mytho's being created they can come back to this universe in so many ways.

Movie Review: Reading all those negative reviews made me love Season 2 even more! Woohoo!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Almost all the reviews I read about Season 2 said it was bad/average/not-good/disappointing/etc. As such, I was preparing myself for exactly those when I bought this season. And guess what I got instead?

A great experience!

With my expectations really low, this season passed well above the bar I set for it! I thank all the people who gave it poor reviews, because otherwise that might not have happened :)

Although comparative judgment says Season 1 was better, if you are a fan of Heroes, Season 2 will not disappoint you in any way. On the other end, if you are they type of person who compares everything to the best of things, you might be somewhat cynical about this season. It wasn't the best, but to me, it was great.

My advice to anyone would be to watch these DVDs with an extremely low expectation. If you can truly achieve that, then you will love the 12 hours you spend watching this. And you will come out saying, did this season really deserve all those poor reviews? :)

Movie Review: Still amazing, but too short
Summary: 5 Stars

Season 2 does suffer a bit from the writers strike. It feels like they are trying to cram a season's worth of story into half the episodes. But at least we got a feeling of closure to the season. Most of the other shows out there just ended their seasons with all the plots left wide open.

Despite the issues caused by this condensing of material, there is a lot of fun to be had. We get: Hiro in ancient Japan spawning a rivalry that will spread across the centuries; Both of the show's powerhouses from last season, Peter and Sylar, trying to regain their lost abilities; Claire struggling with her place in society; Matt's mental powers expanding as he tries to protect his new adopted daughter; there is a plot involving the attempted assassination of each of the first generation of heroes (including Hiro's father); and we get a bunch of new characters, including Veronica Mars/Sarah Marshal herself Kristen Bell.

It is disappointing to not have a full season, but Season 2 it is not a total loss.
