Movie Reviews of Hero at Large

Movie Review: John Ritter's Best Role
Summary: 5 Stars

One thing I hated about "Three's Company", was Jack Tripper being a wimp. He claimed to take karate lessons, in the Navy, but was beat up very easily (especially by women). This role shows how a "Jack Tripper", would fight for real.

Granted, John Ritter pulls some non-Tripper acting, but you can see some character in Steve Nichols. I was seven, when I saw the film. I begged my folks to see it, because of John Ritter and a superhero movie. While a little disappointed the character was an actor, and not a real superhero, John Ritter was still great. The best part of the film is a spoiler. If you don't want to know it, stop reading now.

Before Steve Nichols gives up the superhero role, he saves people from a burning building. He leaps down on the roof and goes inside. He saves the people and walks off with Anne Archer. A perfect ending, to a "realistic" movie.

Movie Review: For The Hero In All Of Us
Summary: 5 Stars

I have seen this movie countless times and it is impossible for me (a nearly 40-something y.o. man) to hold back the tears!!! This movie, during John Ritter's hay-day, presents a real guy who truely believes in the good in all people. He the "starry-eyed" romantic. Anne Archer plays the jaded "been-burnt" girl next door, literally. In a world of over-the-top movies that try to push the envelope just so you'll spend your cash to see it, here's an honest movie that can touch the good side in almost everyone. The message is pure and feelings are true and the tears are real. For parents, this is a must see quality movie for the whole family watch. Don't miis this one!!!

Movie Review: My Favorite John Ritter movie.
Summary: 5 Stars

The last time I saw this movie,It was on TBS in the summer of 198?. I can't wait to get this! I hope 8 Simple Rules Season 1 is on DVD pretty soon.I want Joan of Arcadia Season 1,with that gorgeous Jason Ritter,What a Hunk! drool! John looked pretty good looking in his Captain Avenger costume. Marty Fields:Did you put this on seperate checks like I asked you to. Waiter:No,I put them on Rye. Marty:a Smuck and Smart A** I'm surrounded.
Steve:Yes,This is Robert Redford,I'm seeking New Resontation? [sp] Sorry you were out.

Movie Review: Still Holds Up
Summary: 5 Stars

I saw this movie years ago before John Ritter became a popular TV personality. He does an excellent job in this breakthrough film. It pokes fun at the superhero genre before superhero films became the rage. In spite of the incredulous ending, the film holds up and provides the viewers with a pleasurable experience. It should be noted that not only do we miss the likes of Ritter but also the work of Bert Convy who passed subsequent to this film's release. He was a great character actor and game show host.

Movie Review: Awesome movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a very cool movie. It's about time that it comes out on DVD. John Ritter plays a funny likable character trying to do some good. This is just the kind of "feel good" DVD we need right about now - with all the problems our country seems to be having right now. When John Ritter passed away, this was the first movie I thought about and popped it in the VCR. You can watch this movie over and over again and never get tired of it.
