Movie Review: Wonderful Film
Summary: 5 Stars
I wholey recommend this movie to anyone who is interested in art, design, consumer culture, or in FONTS. This film is a seriously great documentary that covers all aspects of typeface. Very comprehensive and honest, Helvetica kept me 100% interested throughout the film. And in case you think documentaries are boring, don't worry, this one is hilarious - way funnier than rhinos doing it.
I offer my full recommendation, whatever that may mean to you.

The historical significance of the typeface as well as the on-going evolution of typography make this a must see for anyone interested in typography and graphic design, but also a fine entertainment for film enthusiasts. Compelling interviews with notable professionals are informative, witty and often hilarious. Visuals run the gamut from elegance to true grit. Saw some clips form this on YouTube and decided to buy it - if you are into graphic design and marketing, this is fascinating. The authors do a very good job with the documentary style. In addition to the main program (about 90 minutes), there are supplemental outtakes with the designers who were interviewed (bonus material.) i was a little skeptical going in, as my cousin had hyped it to death, but ended up thrilled with the experience. i was a little dazed afterward, it lit up parts of my brain that just don't get used enough in daily life. i think i could put it on for ambient noise while i draw or something...
if you consider yourself a type geek, designer, artist, film nut or simply an intelligent and cultured person, you won't be disappointed.
Movie Review: Had no idea

I had no idea the pervasiveness that one font could have in my life. It was around me but I never even thought about it until this movie. I'm out looking in when it comes to art. I really like art but sometimes people have to point me in the right direction. My graphic designer friend showed me this and I came away with a whole new look on print and advertising. The documentary is a bit long, but I still recommend it.
