Awesome, I can't say enough great things about the series - one of the best anime series ever. Action packed, exciting, and worth every penny.
Summary of Hellsing Ultimate, Vol. 2 (Limited Edition Two-Disc Set)
An unusual new breed of vampires terrorizes England while increasing at an alarming rate, making it impossible to conceal their presence from the public for much longer. Furthermore, the attacks seem organized, which makes the situation even more ominous. While Sir Integra reports her findings to the members of the Round Table, the Hellsing mansion gets blitzed by an army of indestructible ghouls led by the Valentine brothers, a vicious and hedonistic duo who claim to have all the vampiric powers of Arucard and beyond. Indeed, the night has only just begun...As the OVA sequel to Hellsing continues, the Valentine Brothers, Jan and Luke, lead a ghoul-army in a no-holds-barred assault on Sir Integra Hellsing's stronghold. Arucard, Seras and Walter the Butler defeat the invaders amid buckets of blood. Who or what ordered the assault remains a mystery, but the trail may lead back to the Third Reich. The three-part Ultimate OVA offers even less plot and more violence than the original program: the filmmakers seem intent on setting a record for gore in an anime series. Characters are dismembered, bodies torn apart, eyes gouged, and corpses devoured. It all adds up to a nonstop slaughter-athon that would make the cast of Wicked City blanche.
The Limited Edition two-disc set comes in a tin box with a disc of supplemental material that includes interviews, TV commercials, and production art. The accompanying book juxtaposes animation drawings with the corresponding frames from the finished show. So many extras for one 46-minute episode seems excessive, but Hellsing Ultimate is predicated on excess. (Rated 16 and older, but more appropriate for 18 and older: graphic violence, violence against women, sadism, grotesque imagery, tobacco use, cannibalism, profanity) --Charles Solomon
