Movie Review: Really paints a picture of a people...

I just saw this film today and was completely awe inspired. I really felt an attachment to the music and the rich visuals accompany the said music perfectly. I'm a HUGE Sigur Ros fan and I've always felt that their music is music that you can touch. You can pick it up and put it in your pocket. It's very nostalgic and with the equally as stunning Icelandic scenery, the music becomes positively epic.
After watching this I felt like I had a very solid understanding of the kind of place that Iceland is. I felt very connected to it and this film certainly brings that flavor, culture and attitudes of the people into your home, as well as some fantastic music! Sigur Ros is one of the only bands whose music I would recommend buying blindly. I would honestly tell someone who has never heard of them to go out and but an album of theirs simply because it is so poignant and soul felt.
Highly recommended, especially for Planet Earth and Koyaanisqatsi fans, simply because of the GORGEOUS footage of Iceland.

Beautifully filmed and expertly edited, this is one of the best music documentary/tour films I've seen. It delivers great performances in wonderful settings, and was made with clear affection towards the land and the people of Iceland.
The 2nd disk is a great bonus that may well end up getting more play than the main disk, as it presents all of the performances uninterrupted by snippets of interview, as they are in the main documentary, as well as some additional material that didn't make the main film.

this band is magic in a bottle...on a dvd. this dvd offers you a chance to see the most enigmatic international band performing in small towns all around their homeland..which is iceland. if you know of anyone who has an interest in the band sigur ros, buy this for them. my wife and i were made quite emotional by the power of the songs coupled with the strong imagery of their performance. god i love this band. it also contains the title track (heima) which is a new song not available anywhere else. so give this band a chance and this dvd may change the way you look at music as art. sigur ros are really the only band that matters...them and radiohead...Movie Review: There Country is as Beautiful as there Music

Been a Fan for Years and I always wondered what there Homeland looked like. Well the Music couldn't fit the Scenery any better. As you view the DVD you see Landscapes during the Songs. Its no wonder where they get there inspiration. Beautiful..... Simply Beautiful.
I never felt so relaxed watching this Film. The Shows were not only entertaining. But made great therapy for stress relief as well.
