Movie Review: Heat is truly epic

The coffee shop scene tells everything about this film. The human side of the characters is perfectly explored, especially concerning De Niro's character (Neil). His personal conflicts are as strong as his determination and skills as a gangster. This is the magic of this film and only two fantastic actors like Pacino and De Niro could represent it so totally. Congratulations to Val Kilmer that shined and performed exceptionally well under the huge shadow of Pacino and De Niro. "Heat" carries with it the moral values so many of us take for granted. Although much in the film is morally ambiguous, one may find that even when all your life you've lived on the other side of the law, you can still settle down and have a heart-to-heart. When I first saw this movie I was sure it would be another violent crime movie that I would never want to see again. I have since seen it 4 times and have this DVD of my own. The thrilling sequences and brilliant camera-work have you glued to the screen. The exceptional cast of characters has you wondering "who could be so lucky to work with them?". From the opening scene to the thrilling final scenes and everything in between (including the climax) "Heat" grabs you and pulls you in. This is a true film masterpiece. I have never seen a great movie than this.
The pace is great,the storyline is fantastic and it keeps u guessing till the end how it ever ends.
Well Of course its Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.A* list actors with a cool sense.I am glad to have watched this on DVD.
Its great.The picture us clear and perfect.The sound,5.1, makes you jump out of your seat.Somehow, whenever a Warner Bros dvd is released,it always has better sound and picture quality then other dvd producer(giving sony entertainment an exception).
If you have yet to watch,this is highly recommended.Its a movie that is released once in a lifetime.
Movie Review: deniro and pacino are not in this movie......together

I just watched this movie again on some commercial station. It's still great. But one thing about it that I've never seen mentioned. I don't think deniro and pacino are ever in this movie at the same time. You never see their faces together at the same time(I don't think). In the restaurant, when they're talking to each other, you see one face and the back of the other's head. Same with the ending. you never see the faces together. If someone can point to a scene where you see both faces, tell me. I think when they are together , the director used doubles. Prove me wrong and I will send you a brand new dollar. Heat is a long yet beautifully and at the same time intricately plot mixed movie(which I don't appreciate for other movies this one YES). Michael Mann Did a Good Job unlike on The Insider and Later Miami Vice. Anyhow,De Niro And Pacino are great. (Unlike a later collabo which did not work for me) The Action is great,the vehicles,Corvette*sparsely in there*,Camaros*base models*,A Peterbilt,and other vehicles! Val Kilmer is surprisingly good,jon voigt as well, all the actors, it is a great cast and great action and story throughout the movie.One of the Best Movies out there.
