Movie Reviews of Heartbreak Ridge (Snap Case)Movie Review: The Ayatolla of Rock n Rolla! Summary: 5 Stars
Hey peoples! Stitch Jones here. You may have seen this film and wondered why a rocking guitar hotshot like me would put up with old man Highway. Hey that's easy, did you see what he did to Swede? You think I want my pretty face destroyed by that Jarhead?
Anyway, I still play gigs around Camp Lejeune. I may have reenlisted, a couple of times now, but I never got above the rank of Lance Corporal. That's OK, I'm part owner of Tobie's Loungle now on the corner of 17 and Old MapleHurst Rd. C'mon down and I'll sing you a song.
By the way I got a guitar in hock right now at Woodson Pawnshop, help a devildog out and let me hold a twenty till the 1st? Ooh-rah brother.
Movie Review: Model A Ford and a tank full of gas... Summary: 5 Stars
The film deserves to be part of anyone's collection of the military training-to-combat genre, together with "The Boys From Company C" and "Full Metal Jacket." In this case the movie is much lighter in tone than most, and the dialogue is truly first-rate. (I recently saw part of it on commercial TV, and was horrified to hear the changes made to extremely salty, but very realistic, dialogue. For example, "maggot farmer" is not an epitaph one is likely to hear coming from a PFC.)
Highly rated, and highly motivational: you watch it and can understand why camaraderie and esprit de corps are so important.
Movie Review: IT CHANGED MY LIFE Summary: 5 Stars
When I was seven years old, my older step-brother and I went to see The Golden Child at Post Oak Cinema (Enid, Ok) but then snuck in to see part of Heartbreak Ridge.
From then on I wanted to be part of that amazing organization. 10 days after graduating high school I found myself at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. I served 4 years in the Marine Corps Infantry and then got out and went to college.
And it all started because of a B movie with a great leading man, a shaky plot and America's Finest. Ooh-rah!
Movie Review: no doubt, it's one of clint's best. Summary: 5 Stars
It's amazing. Big performance from clint and also mario van peebles. Clint is a tough marine sergeant who is close to retire and dedicades his whole life to marine corps. Now he has a new platoon which is full of undisciplined marines, some of them even do not speak english well. But he is an idealist and he will train this unit although the rest of the men against him. The way he acts is very funny and he is foul-mouthed. There are lot's of amazing scenes and funny chat between characters. A must have for all clint fans!
Movie Review: evohnav is an ... Summary: 5 Stars
You are wrong. It was Marines, not the piddling army, that inveded Grenada. You are thinking of Panama. Second, the Marines GySgt Highway was in charge of were NOT recruits. They were RECON MARINES. Get it right or get out. This is a good war movie and Marines everywhere love it. So what if it was originally going to be an army movie. This movie, at times, shows the spirit of the United States Marine Corps, the finest fighting force on the planet. Nobody has anything on the Corps.
