Movie Reviews of HarveyMovie Review: Funny & Sweet Summary: 5 Stars
If you are someone who likes Jimmy Stewart- you'll love this film. In my opinion, this is his best performance. I love the part where Stewart's character says, "My mother told me that in this world you have to be really smart or very pleasant. I used to be smart, now I prefer pleasant." When Jimmy Stewart died he left a big void, luckily much of his work is on video and DVD for future generations to enjoy and learn from. I sure admired him and thought he was both really smart and very pleasant. Get this movie and share it with everyone you know- it's a gift.
Movie Review: Training Summary: 5 Stars
I may be going left field with this but I watched this movie just last night and I thought to myself this is a great training movie for sales reps or Multi Level Marketers. And the reason for this is because it indirectly teaches one how to genuinely be a relater. If you ever read "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie, many of the principles in that book is in this movie. Consistent smiling, being courteous, asking about that person's friends and family and numerous other key things. The movie is great to watch anytime and to learn life's lessons.
Movie Review: My Favorite Pooka Summary: 5 Stars
This movie with James Stewart as Elwood P. Dowd set the tone for how I live my life today--"In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant. Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me." Dowd lives his life being pleasant to all sorts of riff-raff and miscreants, much to the chagrin to his sister and niece who wish to mingle with the 'right sort of people.' See what happens when they try to match wits with Harvey a 6'4" invisible rabbit who happens to be Dowd's imaginary best friend. Dated, yet timelessly charming.
Movie Review: Everybody should have a Harvey experience Summary: 5 Stars
As a child when I would hear an unexplained noise in our house my mother would say it was Harvey. Not knowing any better, I thought that it was her way of easing my discomfort and it worked. It wasn't until I became an adult that I realized she was referring to the movie, and when I finally saw Harvey I adored it. As a lover of classic movies, I believe this is one of James Stewart's finest roles. It's zany, but so much fun. He makes his invisible rabbit so believable and his supporting cast is fabulous. This is a movie every child should see.
Movie Review: Refreshingly Lighthearted Summary: 5 Stars
"Harvey" 's companion Mr.O'Dowd is a great , very likable guy. He is very friendly and invites just about everyone he meets to visit him and his sister Vita.
Because of the invisible bunny friend of his, his sister and nieces' social lives are troubled.
There are lots of laughs along the way to a mental institution where it's unanimously decided that there is no harm in Harvey's presence. Even the doctor would love to have Harvey's friendship.
Wonderful for a family movie, and not just for children.
