Movie Reviews of HardballMovie Review: Touching Suprise Summary: 5 Stars
My wife and I watched this movie late one night on TV. We had not heard much about it, but saw that Keanu Reaves was in it, so we gave it a shot. The kids were perfect, they showed us the innocence that kids have... even though they acted "hard core" and had big mouths, their innocence shone through. Words and attitudes come from their upbringing, but the kids didn't mean anything by it. The unity of the team, and the quick forgiveness was great. Keanu Reave's character really evolved throughout the movie. At first you love to hate him, but at the end you love to love him. His turning point in the movie was hilarious and very well thought out by the storywriters. Towards the end of the movie, my wife cried her eyes out, and every time she started to ease up a bit, the movie threw another curve ball, and there she was weeping again. It was a good laughter through tears movie that really gets you thinking about the way the world is, and the way it ought to be.
Movie Review: Mo' Keanu, mo problems...NOT! Summary: 5 Stars
Wow! Rented this one about 2 years ago, and it always stuck in my head as a great film! I loved it! I don't know why I love it so much. I guess it's because it's about baseball, and it made me cry, at the end, when Baby G lost his life.
I think I only cry during sad "sports" movies. I didn't cry when "old yeller" died. Didn't cry when Scarface died at the end. But when it comes to Sports movies, I'm a big softie.
My buddy, Bobby Asslong, who's normally right on, when it comes to modern day movies, didn't like this one! Can't understand why. Maybe it's because the main character, the Keanu Reeves' character is a big time gambler and loser, and this hits a little bit too close to home? Perhaps, he's a bit jelous of Keanu's boyish good lucks, and husky voice.
Anywho, I recommend this one. I think it's totally off the hook!

Movie Review: great movie Summary: 5 Stars
Hardball was excellent! I have seen it 28 times so far. It's wonderful to see Keanu playing someone who isn't violent, trying to kill somebody, or trying to get into bed with somebody for once--not that I'm complaining. I really love the scene where he has placed a $12,000 bet and thinks he's lost it. He portrayed a man so beyond stressed that he was on the threshold of suicide. I told my sisters to see this movie and I didn't give away a thing about it. Now they both want it. I fell in love with the kids. The movie makes my cry every time I see it.
Movie Review: This movie is so touching. I had to cry. Summary: 5 Stars
I had watched this movie years ago and wanted to see it again and own it. Of course, I love Keanu Reeves. That's a given. But back then I didn't allow my kids to see it because of all the cursing from the kids in the movie. But I thought they would like the storyline. Now that they were older, I let them watch. They too thought it was good, but there's a really sad part toward the end, and my younger son, who tends to be sensitive, regretted seeing the movie just because of that one scene. Still, it was entertaining and emotional.
Movie Review: Keanu found his niche! Summary: 5 Stars
I never found Keanu Reeves to be interesting at all, but I found this movie to be Keanu's best so far! I think he's found his "niche" in sports-related movies, such as the Replacements, which he starred in also, regarding football. It's a great movie filled with inspiration, and the challenge of growing up in the projects, and is very moving throughout the movie! All of the kids who acted in this movie are great little actors, and Keanu did very well with them!
