Movie Reviews of HamletMovie Review: After 13 years, FINALLY, way to go Warner Bros.!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Finally after 13 years of waiting (even though DVD wasn't around all that time), Warner Bros. realized that this wonderful film version of the Shakespeare classic needed to be made. I have seen all the extra features listed and they will be a wonderful addition to the background of the film. Many people raz this version for "revisionism and story-chopping" (WHATEVER)??? I say, "the plays the thing". Shakespeare SHOULD be about interpretation not windbagging (Branaugh).
Movie Review: Wow! Add My Five Stars to the Mix! Summary: 5 Stars
Wow!
Add my five stars to the mix.
Hamlet is long. Hamlet is incoherent. Hamlet is hard to watch.
NOT THIS HAMLET! This Hamlet is riveting, compelling, unforgettable. Zeffirelli makes sense of motives, timing, characters, all; and he puts it in a two-hour package. This is better even than Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet. And the casting is impeccable.
Let the scholars study on them other Hamlets. THIS is the one to watch.
Movie Review: Hamlet - Excellent movie! Summary: 5 Stars
Hello I'm an autistic adult.
This is my review on Hamlet - dvd.
I rented this from my local library & have watched it on tv on the regular channel's a couple of times & really enjoy the movie. Mel Gibson is great as Hamlet in the movie. Excellent actor. I can't praise up the movie enough. If you get into Shakespeare then watch this movie. You'll really enjoy it I know I have.
Happy Movie Hunting!
Movie Review: The way Hamlet should be! Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellant film! It's the way Hamlet should be unlike the re-make that was set in New York a few or so years ago. The cast is excellant and the costumes and castle setting is great! Just the way Shakespeare envisioned. Mel Gibson's performance is flawless. He should do more Shakespearian roles. If you're going to get a film of Hamlet, this version starring Mel Gibson is all you need.
Movie Review: Franco's Hamlet is First-rate! Summary: 5 Stars
Like many people, I was capitivated by Gibson's long-ago performance in Gallipoli. Before Mel went to Hollywood and became a two-dimensional 'movie star,' he possessed a persona that projected great innocence and a purity of character rarely seen in film. It was wonderful to get to see that side of Mel Gibson again. Good show, Franco!
