Movie Reviews of HalloweenMovie Review: An absolute masterpiece of Terror!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This DVD, released last year, is an absolutely terrific representation of John Carpenter's vision of terror in a suburban setting. The picture is nice and crisp, thanks to THX, the sound and video system developed by Lucasfilm, a great restoration of this true classic of horror. In the film, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is terrorized by the man who later is found out to be her brother, Michael Myers, an unstoppable juggernaut of a masked killer. Myers is pursued by his Doctor, Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasance in a very memorable role), who seems to encounter hints of Myers' evil as he chases him down to attempt to apprehend or kill him. 30 years later, this film still does not disappoint to frighten everyone. But hey, as Sheriff Leigh Brackett points out, "Everyone's entitled to one good scare." Plus there is a terrific behind the scenes featurette, along with cast bio and behind-the-scenes photos. Get this one if you can. 5 stars!!!
Movie Review: THE BEST HORROR MOVIE EVER MADE!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this film! In my opinion, HALLOWEEN is without a doubt, one of the best movies ever made! I love everything about it! I love that it takes place on HALLOWEEN! I love all the characters; especially Michael Myers, Dr. Loomis, and Laurie Strode. I love the mood and atmosphere! It has a classic horror story of a psychopath breaking out of Smith's Grove Sanitarium the night before HALLOWEEN and the next day, returns to Haddonfield, Illinois and goes on a rampage and stalks three friends named Laurie, Annie, and Lynda. Dr. Loomis tries to stop Michael from killing anyone, but it's already too late. Laurie is babysitting Tommy Doyle, and next door, Annie is babysitting Lindsey Wallace. Michael waits patiently to make his move. I love Michael's mask! It's freakin' awesome! Will Laurie survive the dark, bloody HALLOWEEN night? If you love classic horror, I highly recommend HALLOWEEN!!!!
Movie Review: Why don't you own this yet? Summary: 5 Stars
Why did I wait so long to own this? I have seen this fantastic movie since it came out on the big screen back in the late 70's. Well, it's 2007 and why did I wait so long to buy it? For the most part I have seen it to death, but with the new version by Rob Zombie in the theaters, I guess I just got all excited to see it all over again. But now is the perfect time to pick up this film if you have not yet. There are many releases of this film to pick up now and this version is a great deal for your money if you just want the film without all the extras. Don't get me wrong, if you want a bunch of special features, then pick up the 25th anniversary version. But for me, I only watch special features once. So double disc releases just cost me more money for something that I won't really use. Save yourself some cash and pick up a great film for your collection.
Movie Review: Classic. Simply put. Classic. Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the most brilliant, simple, and scary horror films ever made. All the stars were in alignment when John Carpenter, and Debra Hill set out to make this now classic horror film. There have been many clones of this film, but this one is the one that started it all. Amazing lighting & cinematography by Dean Cundey, wonderful performances from Jamie Lee Curtis, Nancy Loomis, P.J. Soles, and Nick Castle. Minimal onscreen graphic violence, no blood, no gore. All story, scares, stalking, and horror. The now classic musical score by director John Carpenter really makes this film come alive! Don't watch this alone or in the dark!! And watch Halloween II immediatly after this film, cause it's a continuation of the same night!!! My favorite film of all time.

Movie Review: THE PERFECT BEDTIME MOVIE Summary: 5 Stars
I can still remember the frightened whispers, and collective intake of breath in the theater when I first saw this masterpiece. This happened during several of the scenes when Michael Meyers was in pursuit of his sister with a butcher knife. The mounting, relentless suspense in this horror movie has rarely been matched, and Carpenter's music was as eerie, and malevolent as that in another favorite of mine ( THE EXORCIST ). HALLOWEEN proved that you don't need buckets of blood, and fake gore to scare the crap out of people- just great camera work, and excellent direction. Horror movies don't get better than this, and the added scenes in the extended version make it even better. A must for any horror fan.
