Movie Reviews of Halloween IIMovie Review: Very few movies have had sequels this good Summary: 5 Stars
I'll start off by saying that not all of this movie was good, sometimes the murders were over exadurated (like the hot tub scene) and Michaels knife did not look half as powerful as the filmakers made it. However, there were many good qualities of the film.
1: John Carpenter made it so it would start at the last three minutes of HALLOWEEN I and after that it would go to Michael Myers perspective and finally end up in the hospital.
2: No movie had picked up where the last one left off since the mid thirties.
3: Michael does not accomplish what he intended to, but Laurie does... mostly and so does Dr. Loomis.
4: Makes it so Michael seems dead in the end when he's really not and neither is Dr. Loomis.
5: Made you have no clue who was going to die even through the end.
6: Great acting.
7: Michael looks freekier than ever.
8: This is much better than 3,4,5,6 and 8.
9: Scared the hell out of me.
If you love halloween than you should have already seen this, if not than see it anyway, it's one hell of a movie.
Movie Review: Best sequel in the series Summary: 5 Stars
I am a huge fan of the original Halloween. I saw it at a young age and it completely blew my mind and ever since then, I've been devoted to the entire series. I can't say that I hate any of the sequels, but some of them are a far cry from what the first movie was all about. Halloween II is probably the one sequel in the series that fans can agree is good. It completely expands on everything Halloween started. It picks up immediately after the first one ended and in this movie we follow Laurie Strode to a hospital where she is being treated for her stab wound. However, Michael is determined to track her down and follows her there. Well, seeing how the hospital is full of people and sharp objects and this is a Halloween movie, you can figure out what ensues over the next hour and a half. There is PLENTY of gore and graphic murders to go around in this flick. Even though the first half hour completely stinks and is torture to sit through, the rest of the movie is just flat out awesome. If you liked the first one, give Halloween II a chance.
Movie Review: Better Than the Original Summary: 5 Stars
This is indeed a great sequel. If you truly enjoyed the original Halloween you should like this as well. It keeps the overall mood of the original, but adds more violence and horror. The film itself has aged well and is still as intense and creepy as the day it came out. What I have found to be maybe the largest advantage for the film is that the story takes place in a hospital. Its such a cold and nerving atmosphere that I think it makes this film much more frightening than the classic original. The chase scene at the end of the film still excites me and freaks me out after numerous viewings. Its really a great film for repeated viewings, it never seems to become old. Many horror films lack creative death scenes or death scenes that look half way real. This film isnt one of those. Every death here looks convincing and very cool. Halloween 2 is usually held up to being the best sequel in the series and I feel it does deserve that title because its equal to John Carpenters Halloween in every way and its even better.
Movie Review: Best of the sequels! Summary: 5 Stars
Set on the same night where Michael Myers attacked Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and thought was left for dead, he continues his reign of terror as he is still on the loose still wanting to kill people and goes after Laurie who has been hospitalized. Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasance) is still hot on his trail to put a stop to him and find out what the secret behind the killer is.
Simply awesome sequel to the all-time slasher classic and in my opinion it's the best of the "Halloween" sequels! written and co-produced by John Carpenter and Debra Hill, this highly entertaining follow-up that's just as good and scary as the original but more violent. Some fans of the first movie wanted a sequel and here it is! this delivers thrills, spills and memorable kills such as the hot-tub sequence or the hypodermic needle scene, good ending as well.
This new Universal DVD has better picture and sound than Goodtimes's DVD and has a bio with the theatrical trailer, it's a must buy if you loved the original.
Movie Review: He's hes pissed. Summary: 5 Stars
Halloween 2 is a great sequal that is just as good as the first film, many of you may not agree but I think otherwise. The film was written and produced by Carpenter and was directed by Rick Rosenthal who did a wonderfull job, the film continues right after the ending of the first film when Micheal Myers was shot sevral times and fell of the balcony. After the events of the first film Laurie is taken into the hospital after being injured and traumatized by the death of her friends, there is also the fact that Michael Myers might by Laurie Strodes bigger brother uh oh, the hospital setting was great and added alot of atmosphere to this film also returning to this film was Dr. Loomis and this time the death scenes are alot more bloodier and it had some gore like the scene with the naked nurse that gets her face boiled in the jacuzi or the needle in the eye scene. I loved this film as it was a very enjoyable horror sequal that most horror fans are going to love.........
