Movie Reviews of HIP HOP ABS Package - Fat Burning Cardio, Ab Sculpt, Total Body Burn, Secrets to Flat Abs

Movie Review: UNSAFE AND NOT FOR BEGINNERS
Summary: 1 Stars

Any kind of safety modifications for beginners is glaringly absent. The "Abs" section is the best of the worst, with the cardio workouts being too fast, too hard to follow, and with absolutely no safety tips at all. I've been a physical therapist and aerobics teacher for 15 years and Beach Body deserves a great big thump on the head for not going a little bit further to make this product safe for ALL levels. Skip this overhyped white elephant and buy something from Kathy Smith or Karen Voight to get a good workout without injury.

Movie Review: I'm addicted to it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've only done the cardio section, but I've been doing it 3 times a week for a month, and I love it. I find myself trying to do the "booty pop" around the house, which my husband finds hysterical, considering I am 100% not the "booty pop" type of person, being a classical ballet dancer for many years. It's the complete opposite of what I do, and that's why it's so much fun. Plus, Sean T is so cute! I wish I could move like him...sigh. Even though I do Pilates abdominal floor exercises, I couldn't seem to trim down quite as much as I wanted, and with all this cardio, I really did lose an inch (belly button measurement).

Movie Review: WORKOUT JUNKIE
Summary: 5 Stars

THESE ARE THE BEST WORKOUT DVD'S I OWN, ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM. IT DOES'NT FEEL LIKE A WORKOUT AT ALL. THE AB WORKOUT IS AMAZING. IT IS A LITTLE HARD TO GET THE HANG OF IT AT FIRST, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TWO LEFT FEET! I CAN'T WAIT TO ORDER MORE.

Movie Review: Good, fun workout, but TV ad misleads...
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this DVD on Amazon after watching a few minutes of the TV infomercial. I hate most workout DVDs because the music is cheesy, boring, stock synthesizer stuff. I was attracted to this one because the music was reasonable. On the infomercial, they played upbeat knock-off versions of hip-hop influenced pop songs like "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls...NOT what I choose to listen to when I'm not working out, but catchy, danceable and more motivating than the typical bland workout DVD tunes. To really sucker me in, they kept flashing "THIS IS THE ACTUAL MUSIC!" onscreen during the infomercial. When I got the DVD, though, I was disappointed to find that at least 90% of the music in the main workouts isn't the music that they were so proud of in the TV ad. I'm not complaining too much, though, because A) it's still better than most workout DVD music, and B) it's an infomercial - caveat emptor.

Also, I really do enjoy the workouts. I was looking for something to supplement my preferred workout method, fast walking while using weights for upper body, which I can't do in winter. This is a decent substitute. I do both the "Fat Burning Cardio" (30 mins.) and the "Total Body Burn" (40 mins) (other reviewers have done a great job describing all the components of the DVD, so I won't be too redundant here). I find them both to be good workouts that make me work up a little sweat and get my heart rate up, but they don't kill me. The Total Body Burn uses weights so it's a good workout of upper as well as lower body. As for the choreography, Shaun T. does a good job breaking all the moves down at slow tempos before putting them together at a faster pace, so even uncoordinated, non-funky people like me can feel good about shaking our booties. The DVD also gives you the option to crank the music up, which is nice once you've mastered the moves and don't want to listen to the chatter day after day.

I'm still unsure about what effect this workout really has on your abs. The "tilt, tuck and tighten" gimmick that Shaun T. is so into doesn't do much for me except mess with my lower back. I've done 8 Minute Abs for years with great results and no back pain, so I'm going to continue with that while still using this DVD to supplement my workouts with a tiny bit of "flava".

Movie Review: Awesom!
Summary: 5 Stars

I just got my DVD and it was so much fun, easy and it really works!

Thanks!
