Movie Review: WAKE UP!

All I can say is that anyone who gives this movie a negative review is just not getting it. This is not a comedy. This is reality. I can show you many places where people live this way. How can you say you dont like a movie that shows you something real and makes you feel something - whether its anger, disgust, repulsions, or sympathy. NObody can say this is not an interesting film in the least. Just becasue it doesnt leave you feeling all warm and cozy inside and just because you cant show it to your kiddies doesnt mean its not an excellent movie. This movie is strang and off the wall. In my opinion Harmony Korine, Director, is messed up, in a good way. His movie is just as messed up as he is. I love this movie. It is completely different. Absolutely interesting, the breif nudity is nice too! If you have more brain cells than the common movie gower, this movie is for you. It is the kind of movie you can either watch to be wierded out, or watch... be wierded out, and discuss. YOU'LL SEE BUNNY BOY PLAY THE ACCORDIAN WHILE SITTING ON THE TOILET. YOU'LL SEE A TEEN-AGE BOY TRY TO SEDUCE A BLACK,MALE MIDGET. WATCH TWO COWBOYS GUN DOWN BUNNY BOY IN A JUNKYARD IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. A film that works on so many levels it will take several viewings to absorb it all. Korine takes the backdrop of a real place, Xenia, Ohio, and real events that would change it forever, the worst tornado the area would ever see, and creates an existential world of unforgettable characters in a pre-apoca lyptic series of brilliant scenes. Not for those who do not wish to think. Not for those that allegory is lost on. A brilliant film from a brilliant man. Shows that Kids was just commercial hype. With Harmony Korine one never knows. This movie is not for your mom nor is it for most people you know...This movie is probably not even for you..., but i know that there are a bunch of you out there, scattered all over the place, who will agree with me in that this is a movie that even if it looks like it may not necessarily smell good, is actually really yummy in a very special sort of way that tickles your tummy and then then keeps you awake nights. If you liked this movie, it's ok. If you really' really liked this movie, that's ok too. I did.
