Movie Reviews of Guarding TessMovie Review: Tess has the power! Summary: 5 Stars
I hadn't heard of Guarding Tess until i found it in my parents movie collection. I was maybe eleven at the time and only picked it out because it had my nickname, Tess, in the title. Since then i have become a N. Cage lover. So i brought the movie because i forgot what it was about.(i just remember i liked it). The only reason why i say this is because by reading the other reviews, it hasnt been teens buying this movie which is a shame. You could really feel Cages emotions through the screen and Cages and Maclaine has a relationship that was pleasant to watch since you don't really see that kind of loyality anymore. And how couldn't you love the ridiculously bossy widow who everyone is afraid to say no too. Which is always a great element of a good comedy.
Movie Review: TBS Superstation. Summary: 5 Stars
I just watched the second half of Guarding Tess on TBS. It's now 11:30PM, and I am writing this review when I should be in bed 1 and half hour ago. Nicolas Cade and The old woman in the movie both turned in great performances. The story was lightly funny at first, but didn't really go anywhere. The relationship between The FBI agent and ex-first lady was strange, and though the movie tried to give their intimacy an explanation, it was still weird. The climax came at the end, and was very entertaining, for it broke a long line of fairly boring plot. There is much meaning in the movie; it tried successfully to bring the emotions of a smart first lady widow who dearly wants attention to life. I was touched by the movie. Thank you. I should go to bed now.
Movie Review: Great Movie Summary: 5 Stars
I am not a Shirley MacLaine fan. I watched this movie because it had Nicholas Cage in it. Well, let's say that I loved her performance in this movie. The interaction between her and Cage was very impressive. You could just sit there and forget you were watching a film. It seems reasonable that the head of her security team would become very fond of his charge. It also seems reasonable that she would come to feel as if he was her son. Eddie Albert plays the perfect bad son so well. This is a movie well worth watching with all the twist and turns, never knowing but always expecting something to happen. Don't want to spoil the whole movie for you but you'll greatly enjoy this one. It's definitely worth the money.
Movie Review: A MOVIE WITH A BIG HEART Summary: 5 Stars
doug [nicolas cage] is an fbi agent assigned to guard tess [shirley mclaine] a widowed, former first lady. he is a rules and regulations guy with no spontaniety, she is a free spirit with little tolerance for the fbi's button-down world. prior to being assigned to tess, doug worked under her husband, the president. one day while watching videotape of her husband's funeral, tess sees doug become emotional, a rare opportunity to see him vulnerable. it's obvious they have more in common than at first glance. doug is tested later and comes to realize he cares for her very much. great movie, with a lot of heart and humanity.
Movie Review: This Movie Is Great!! Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this movie about 4 or 6 years ago. Iwas about 7 or 8 then. This movie was truly amazing to me. This is a very warm, bubbly movie about a former president's wife and one of her closest Secret Service Agents. This movie ties in wonderful with the background of Summersville, Ohio. This movie is one of Nicholas Cage's great movies and one of Shirley MacLaine's greatest movies next to Terms of Endearment. Keep it up, you guys. You're doing great so far.
