Movie Reviews of Greyfriars BobbyMovie Review: A British Disney classic Summary: 4 Stars
Greyfriars Bobby is a true life dog story. This isn't the shaggy dog, there is no Disney humor characters. This story of Bobby (a dog) whose Master died and the small town which adopted him. Its basicly unknown to American audences, British and Scotish cast is headed by actor Donald Crisp (from the film, The Great Escape)
This film is a simple tale that Disney film told in the late 1950-1960's. These sorta films were run as second features to the Disney cartoons when they were released to theaters.
You can see the great hand of walt himself at work. This simple tale has no special effects, just a story a family can watch together. I wish there were more of these type of classic film chestnuts from Disney available on DVD to watch today to share with the younger people

Movie Review: A must see for Edinburgh tourists Summary: 4 Stars
I wish that I had watched this movie before visiting Edinburgh this Spring, but I didn't even know about it until our tour guide pointed out the Bobby statue.
If you like old 'feel good' movies for the whole family, this is a good one. I enjoyed the Scottish scenery and dialects. The humor is subtle, but the children liven up the pace. This is not a musical like Mary Poppins or Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang. This is actually a true story brought to the screen because of the dog's persistant loyalty.
The one-o'clock gun is another Edinburgh tradition portrayed in the movie.
Don't hesitate to purchase this movie for young or old.
Movie Review: Greyfriar's Bobby Summary: 4 Stars
The family movie has been redefined in the last 25 yrs or so. A lot of what we view as family fare is seasoned with inuendos and off color language, even what is now Disney produced would never have passed by Uncle Walt. So here I present a movie that can be watched without embarrassment or fumbling explanation to the little ones. Grey Friar's Bobby is a true family film like so many from this golden era of Disney. I highly recommend it.

Movie Review: Greyfriars Bobby Summary: 4 Stars
A story about a dog faithful to its owner and winning the heart of the town it is in. It is a Great for the whole family, though a little slower than newer movies, never the less a movie that is worth watching.
