Movie Review: Prime Example of TV (review may contain spoilers)

This show is wonderful! With a diverse cast in race, these actors are truly the most interesting characters on TV. They are all wonderful! T.R. Knight, Kate Walsh, Katherine Heigl, and Chandra Wilson seem to give the best performances every week! However, I've never seen an actress that can cry as well as Ellen Pompeo and no one has ever made bloody scrubs look so good since George Clooney as Patrick Dempsey. Isaiah Washington and Sandra Oh give great performances as Burke and Cristina, the interracial couple who were made for each other! Justin Chambers makes the very unlikable Alex Karev seem likeable (especially in the second season finale where Justin made me ball!)! James Pickens, Jr. always seems to give a great performance as the Chief of Surgery and always seems to be riding the interns' tails (which is exactly what they deserve half the time.)!
On to more info on the show. The show focuses on Meredith Grey (Pompeo) and her fellow interns, Cristina Yang (Oh), Izzie Stevens (Heigl), Alex Karev (Chambers), and George O'Malley (Knight). They are all trying to be great surgeons while still trying to live a life outside the hospital and their scrubs. Each has there own problems which makes being a good surgeon hard at times. Meredith's mother has Alzheimer's and she is in love with a married man. Cristina has a mother who she hates, is dating an attending, and seems to be struggling with "losing her edge." Izzie comes from a tough background of trailer parks and getting herself through med school by being a lingerie model. She also just lost her love in the season finale. Alex is in love with Izzie but seems to never get his feelings out there in a way that doesn't hurt Izzie. He also seems to be the only doctor in the hospital who tells the truth which often gets him in trouble. And poor, adorable George (or "Bambi" as the other interns call him) always seems to be hurt in some way do to his love for Meredith Grey. All these interns are taught by world renown surgeons. Dr. Preston Burke (Washington) is Cristina's boyfriend and head of cardiovascular surgery. He was recently shot in the spine in the second season finale, and we still are unaware if he will ever be able to perform surgery again. Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd (the beautiful Dempsey) is the new head of neuro surgery who left his own practice in New York City to move to Seattle. In the beginning of the series he met and fell in love with Meredith Grey the day before both of their first days at Seattle Grace only to have his wife come chasing after him and surprise us all in season one's cliffhanger. The SheShepherd, Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery Shepherd (Walsh), is head of neonatal and pediatric surgery. While most of us over last summer were mad at McDreamy for cheating on his wife, we found out early in the second season that the SheShepherd was the one who slept with Derek's best friend which then made him make a move to Seattle. Derek had to chose between his wife and his real true-love, Meredith, and ended up staying with Addison. However, in a steamy love scene in the season finale Meredith and Derek fulfilled every fan's hopes and dreams of getting back together. Dr. Miranda Bailey (Wilson), is the 4th year resident who watches over all the interns. She recently just had a baby and the Chief as she puts it seems to be "mommy-tracking" her or giving her less work because he does not believe she can handle the work load with a new baby. She also has to deal with the interns who kiss up to her to get all the good fun surgeries. As Cristina puts it, to the interns a good surgery "is like candy only with blood which is so much better!" Overall these interesting characters comes the chief, Dr. Richard Webber (Pickens). He has to deal with the new doctors, interns, and all the patients while dealing with his own problems. For example, last season he had surgery on his brain to remove a brain tumor while still having to worry about everyting that went on in the hospital.
This show is amazing, with great characters and the best cast I've ever seen. Lately it seems like all the credit has been going to Desperate Housewives. However, I think that show has quickly taken a nice trip in the toilet and Grey's deserves so much more credit than what they are getting. People are finally coming around and giving them some more credit, but they deserve it all because they put on a great show. Shonda Rhimes (the creator, writer, and producer) is so brilliant along with all the other cast members and crew members. Every week they get wonderful guest stars. My favorite has been Jeffery Dean Morgan (Denny-Izzie's love) who died in the season finale (balled like a baby!) but all have been fantastic. This show doesn't disappoint. If you have never seen the show, buy the first two seasons on DVD. It won't disappoint! Keep up the good work cast and crew!
