Movie Reviews of Green CardMovie Review: Watching a rose open Summary: 5 Stars
Two characters, bound by barbed wire into their notions of life, encounter each other because they are the least likely to unravel anything about themselves. Seems like the perfect plan, since they were destined to never meet again. But, on that one afternoon in the sun, the most unlikely flower moves quickly from bud to full bloom, and these are each placed in the ideal environment, crucible if you will, to accomplish the same thing. Both begin to lose the barbs, then the wires, and there is a cast of characters totally surprised by their unnatural changes.
Perhaps the great sadness of the ending, which I mourned for years after seeing this in the theater, is proof of the convincing nature and acting of the story that leads us there. I watched for years for a Part II: The Citizenship, which I had written a dozen times in my head, but, alas, I wind up with the original as a DVD. It's still great. And, I had never liked Depardieu in anything before. Go figure.
Movie Review: "when are you coming, cherie?" Summary: 5 Stars
a fantastic surprise of a romantic comedy involving two mismatched people embarking on a marriage of convenience and a planned quickie divorce who, of course, fall in love to their surprise and seemingly too late. of course, gerard depardieu commands the movie but andie mcdowell is perfectly cast as his tightly wound counterpart. one of the all time greatest, most romantic endings that features great acting from both stars, especially depardieu. an oddly fulfilling ending, even though it leaves you longing for a sequel. what a great little sleeper of a movie this is, with an equally strong soundtrack.

You'll howl with laughter and literally pummel your fists to death with this movie - because Green Card is THE irresistibly irresistible comedy...
Movie Review: Green Card as fun as I remembered it! Summary: 5 Stars
Andie McDowell and Gerard Depardieu have a strange/sweet/funny marriage of convenience. Andie's garden apartment is fabulous a whole other character in the movie. If you haven't seen this film, try it. Wacky wonderful film in ways similar to "My Stepmother was an Alien" with like able co-stars and cute plot.
Movie Review: Green Card Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent movie. Andie MacDowell and Gerard Depardieu at their finest. Supporting actors Bebe Neuwirth and Gregg Eldeman are wonderful too. Superb job of directing. You will want to re-watch it frequently.
