Movie Review: Heartbreaker you can't stop watching....

My 11th grade daughter introduced the rest of the family to this movie after seeing it in her Japanese language class. Don't be fooled by the fact this is in animated format or that the lead roles are young children. It is one of the most moving anti-war statements I've ever seen. I put it in the same class with "All Quiet On the Western Front". Teen-aged gameboy son, 5 year old Disney princess, sports-watching husband as well, we were nailed to our seats watching. I've seen this once and can never watch it again. It is everything everyone says it is (beautifully made, drenched with emotion, thought provoking, not for children) and you should watch it at least once but it is just way too sad for me. The only other movie that is hard for me to watch based on its depression-inducing effect is Lord of the Flies. If you're the type of person that says there is no movie out there that will ever make you cry, this is the one for you.Movie Review: Never

Simply put, I will never watch this movie again. If you aren't moved or feel for these kids....then you don't have a heart.
I don't know how I can give this movie 5 stars yet never want to watch it again. You'll have to see it to understand what I'm talking about.

This is the best animated movie I've ever seen. I suggest you watch it in Japanese, with subtitles, because the voices are better than the English dubbing. It's about the end of WWII in Japan, so of course it's really sad, but very good.Movie Review: Wonderful tear jerker

I bought this after seeing it on Funination. It is a very sad tale, a 10 Kleenix at least but has much to offer in the way of art, Japanese culture and will show anyone interested that soldiers aren't the only ones who suffer in war!
