Movie Reviews of GorgeousMovie Review: A Cute and Romantic Fairy Tale Summary: 5 Stars
The movie "Gorgeous" is an adorable and romantic love story between Jackie Chan and Qu Shi. Qu shi plays an optimistic young girl who finds a message in a bottle and travels to Hong Kong to find her Prince Charming. The message was sent by a guy named Albert who turns out to be gay. He helps Qu shi's character meet and fall in love with Nick (Jackie Chan's character), who she meets while on a photo shoot with Albert on a boat. The scenery was great, including the fashion and cars. The fight scenes in this movie were not very violent, but rather entertaining and humorous. The soundtrack includes a sweet song sung by William So and Kit Yee Chan. This is a great movie to buy on DVD and watch with friends and family! I really enjoyed this movie and hope that I can find my Prince one day! =D
Movie Review: My favourite Jackie Chan film EVER. Summary: 5 Stars
I have always been a huge Jackie Chan fan, but I guess I always wanted something more than the slapstick sorts of comedy that he kept getting in films in the United States... When I finally found this movie, I almost instantly fell in love. I am a sucker for romance movies, as well as for Jackie Chan. Part of what made me want to see this, however, is that Jackie Chan wrote this. Jackie Chan acted wonderfully in this movie, and the romance in it, I don't think can be beat. I thought the fight scenes were absolutely amazing, and the background music was great as well.
I would recommend this to any hardcore Jackie Chan fan, or anyone who loves a good romantic film that doesn't mind reading subtitles.
Movie Review: Gorgeous for sure! Summary: 5 Stars
I watched this on Starz movie channel a few months ago, and after that, watched it again every time it came on! The minute I saw it was up for preorder, I had to order it. This movie is worth the price just for the girl in it. She is so cute. She really is beautiful. What can I say though, I love asian girls as I love asian cinema. Besides her being such eye-candy, the movie itself is great. Jackie Chan is great, as he always is. Not as much action-oriented as you may like for a Jackie Chan flik, but the two fights he has with the foreign fighter are very entertaining, especially the last one. Also, I think the theme song is a nice song.
Movie Review: A great action packed romantic movie,Jackie Chan style!!! "Gorgeous" delivers!!! Summary: 5 Stars
What a great little gem of a film,I'm a huge Jackie Chan fan.and this film is quite a rare feat,A Jackie Chan romance film, but of course it has plenty of that trademark Chan action and humor, but it has lots of heart too, quite rare for an action film, but it works quite well here!!!Contains BOTH Widescreen and Full Frame versions of the film,as well as the Original Cantonese and English dubbed soundtracks,as well as a cool half-hour "making-of" Documentary,so everyone will be happy!!! One of his great Hong Kong films, that was made after "Rush Hour" by the way,and it's just as good!!! "Gorgeous" delivers!!! Long live Jackie Chan!!! Five stars!!! A+
Movie Review: Good movie Bad Commentary Track Summary: 5 Stars
Jackie Chan has a winner with this one. It has comedy, action, great fights, & a good story (although a bit ripped off Message in a Bottle (but who liked that sappy movie anyway)). A refreshing change of pace.About the commentary: Jackie's english is not all that good making it almost unbearable to listen to. Although I wish Jackie had supplied his own voice for the dub track. I watch a lot of commentary tracks on movies I just wish Jackie had someone else with him on this one maybe Ric Meyers of Inside Kung Fu Magazine. But you can't always get what you want.
