This is an incredible movie with excellent performances. A mesmerizing experience that can be enjoyed many times over. The scenery is beautiful and for those not too familiar with World War II, a great learning experience. Children today, especially those in the U.S. could not even begin to imagine such horror. However, the relationship between Mr. Tom and the boy is so moving.Movie Review: Mister Tom provides great character study.

The film, produced in England, is not only a great character study from many dimensions, it provides an uncanny look at the burgeoning relations between a boy and an elderly caretaker, both of whom are resistant to the arrangement. This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. If you like character-driven stories filled with the gamut of human emotions, you will love this movie. As in all English dramas, every character is played by incredible actors, from the leads to the smallest bit parts. I loved this DVD. John Thaw was a great actor, both in film and on television. I loved his Inspector Morse series but he was also well known for many other performances. It's a great shame that he is gone.
