This movie definitely needs to be on DVD. Considering what junk is being put out on DVD, it is a shame that one with the music and a story line like this hasn't been done. I watched this movie on TV and someone called me and I didn't get to see what happened to his wife, so I just had to buy the movie and find out. I was not disappointed. It has finally happened, the DVD release of Goodbye Mr. Chips (Peter O'Toole version). Yes it is Widescreen, yes it has the 4 min intro Overture music, yes I saw it on the big screen as a child, yes it is playing right now on my TV as I type. The wait is over.Movie Review: ONE OF MY FAVORITES

Ive been waiting such a long time for this movie to come out on dvd. It wasn't the best musical but I found it very entertaining and Peter o"Toole is especially wonderful as always. Petula Clark is fine and touching and love her singing.
