Movie Reviews of Good LuckMovie Review: Good Luck Summary: 5 Stars
Good Luck features two great actors, the late Gregory Hines and the brilliant Vincent D'Onofrio. They performed very well together having almost all the scenes with both actors. It was amazing to see Hines, such a great dancer as well, portray a pariplegic without even the slightest hint of leg movement and D'Onofrio portraying a blind person without going over the top. Also very interesting to see D'Onofrio transform from an overblown ego, pro football player to a bitter, lonely man. Great movie in that yes it had very touching moments but a lot of great comic moments as well.

Movie Review: loved it! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie hammers my funny bone. Loved the true to life aspects that are portrayed. If you have ever spent time in a wheel chair you will understand the humor at a deeper level, if not you will still find it funny/
Movie Review: A Hidden Gem Summary: 4 Stars
I have only been a fan of the incomparable Vincent D'onofrio for a few years, but to see him teamed with Gregory Hines whom I have loved forever and mourned his sudden and unexpected loss as if a friend of my own was snatched from my life. I wanted to mourn him even more after seeing this for the movies he might still be making. I was also used to watching him move like a cat ( White Knights anybody? ) oh geez and I guess I had never watched his acting over his dancing. Him relegated to a wheelchair as Bernard Lemley forced me to view him as the great actor he was. I bought this movie to add to my VDO collection, Vincent was at the height of his hunkiness but he was already brilliant in his acting ability. I loved how Tony "Ole" Olezniak got all his innocence back, he transformed back into a beautiful man child who had to learn to see the world allover again and take it as it was not how big money and fame and athletic prowess had made it seem for him. This was a love story between two injured men, really. Hine's character cared about the other man at a time when he was still an insufferable cad. Big bad Tony had his childhood hurts too. He made it big to show his dad he was really a man, he had lost most of his humanity along the way. Max Gail ( another favorite of mine ) Stan Wojo from Barney Miller does a warmhearted turn here and plays a fatherly type who knows how to rock the plaid flannel. I fully admit I watch half the movies I do to see tall big goodlooking/sexy men and I love the hunky/chunky types with a heat of gold. The movie ends believabley, I believe it's loosely based on a true story. Going down the rapids is almost a anti-climatic afterthought. It's the bonding road trip and the self discovery they get along the way, and Tony gives hope to Berney that he might score with the ladies one day again too. All in all a sweet but not too treacly movie...I even showed it to a friend of mine and saw a tear or two in her eye. I can highly reccommend this one.
Movie Review: Good Luck is Great Fun Summary: 4 Stars
This movie is full of fun. But more than that it goes deep into the feelings of all of us by examing the stories of two handicapped and unlikely companions on an impossible dream. Be aware, the language is crude and the discussions on the level you might expect for two single guys alone on the road for days as they travel to a white water raft race. AND every single cast member (not just the stars) seems perfect for their roles, right down to the bit parts. A great film that will make you laugh, cheer, and maybe examine your own life. Definitely delivers what it says...a feel good film.
