Movie Review: Victor Garber + David Haskell = <3
Summary: 5 Stars
Victor Garber (whom I knew as "the 'Alias' guy" when we got this DVD) is the most phenomenal Jesus I could ever imagine. He has a gorgeous, simple tenor voice and a happy, innocent manner that so perfectly fits the role of Jesus. David Haskell (also in the original cast recording) is the only John/Judas I could ever picture for the role. "All for the Best" is one of the best numbers in the movie. I find the music in this movie so powerful and energetic. The first time I saw this movie was in the 1970's and I loved it then and love it now. It is colorful, refreshing and teaches the Gospel of St. Matthew. And, everything takes place in 1970's New York City. There are some great shots of The World Trade Centers, which of course are now gone. This is a great musical and very suitable for children.Movie Review: Modern but still according to The Word, but need to see it.

Godspell leqns very much to the mODERN, BUT, IF THE VIEWER IS AWARE, THERE ARE GOOD REFERRENCES TO tHE Book. I would expect the younger generation - 17 to 25 would still come away with the meaning, evident or deper. Would recommend it , especially, as it catches the thoughts and messages. Plue the theme musical piece is gteat. A good and wise purchase.Movie Review: Great Music

Terrific movie with excellent music. My brothers and sisters and I grew up with this album, we knew all the words to every song. I had the song "All good gifts" sung at my wedding. I had no idea it was Victor Garber who played Jesus, he was great as were all the actors. Anyone in their 40's will appreciate this movie. Very happy with this purchase.Movie Review: Godspell Rocks!

This DVD is still one of the best ever. The music is great, the colors and movement are compelling, and the talent of the actors is outstanding! Even with the lack of traditional-ness, it conveys a beautiful and freedom filled Gospel. I recommend it to anyone. Ordering it from Amazon was easy, it arrived quickly, and was in perfect shape.
