Movie Reviews of Godsmack - Changes

Movie Review: Awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of the best DVD's I have purchased in a long time. The bonus features rock. You can watch the DVD either as a full length movie or as a straight forward concert. The band comes accross suprisingly as real genuine, nice guys. This DVD let's you get behind the scenes and into the inner world of Godsmack. I am particularly impressed by the overall look of the movie. Very professional and cool. The DTS track in particular is amazing. The band has never sounded better. Andy Johns of Led Zep fame mixed this DVD- not to be missed.

The Director and Producer was Dan Catullo who directed last year's Rush In Rio (one of my favorites). His documentary guy Andrew MacNaughtan also did this DVD. This DVD has a lot more flair to it and desrves to be on any music lovers shelf.

I would reccommend this DVD to any rock lover. Godsmack is a band deserving of such a product. Anybody who buys this DVD will agree.

Movie Review: Grip it and Rip it !
Summary: 5 Stars

I've always enjoyed Godsmack's music - but haven;t listened in some time (own the first 2 offerings).

Rented this on a whim - simply unforgettable!
Perhaps the best concert heavy rock footage I've seen in quite some time.
The sound (tone) that they got off the board for this was just....unbelievable. The concert itself totally rocked - what can you say - these guys are die-hard rockers from Boston. 'Nuff said.

Sully is a music machine - can't stress this enough - the guy is gifted.
Shannon - probably the hottest drummer I have seen in 10+ years.

All of the members have that rare quality of musicianship without the burden of elitism so often seen with today's "educated musicians" - you know, the Berklee folk? - yup.

Godsmack is the latest saviour of hard rock/metal.

Get this DVD, stick it in La Machina and crank it - you won't be disappointed.

Movie Review: Godsmack, don't make "Changes"....it's perfect!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I heard Godsmack songs on the radio years ago when they put out their first 2 CD's. I thought they were good but didn't really get into them....until I saw them in concert. They opened for Metallica and to be perfectly honest, I can't tell you who put on the better show. For weeks after that concert I couldn't stop listening to them. I wanted to relive that concert so I went out and bought this DVD. When I work out, I put in this DVD. When I'm having a bad day, I put in this DVD. When I'm in the mood for a concert, I put in this DVD. It's not only very well done, but seeing the behind the scenes bonus material gives you a glimpse into what the band is all about. I know some people don't like drum solo's but when Sully and Shannon have a drum duel, you can't help but be impressed. Just writing this review and talking about the DVD has me singing some of the songs. I'm going to go watch it again right now...

Movie Review: Steller DVD
Summary: 5 Stars

Let me start off by saying that I don't even own any Godsmack Cd's, it's not to say I don't like them, i just never felt compelled to purchase any. I'm a huge rock fan though, and love watching music DVD's. I own a few by: Pearl Jam, Pantera, Alice in Chains, and Coldplay to name a few. None of them compare to this DVD. I purchased it because of the other great reviews....they were right! The widescreen aspect ratio and video filmed with HD cameras gets you about as close as you can without being there. The sound is amazing as well, YOU HAVE TO CRANK IT PEOPLE! The drum face-off has got to be the coolest clip of video that I have ever seen. I thought watching the entire video through would be kind of boring, but it is quite interesting, and you can always skip to the performances themselves if you want. Pick this one up....everyone!

Movie Review: Godsmack rocks
Summary: 5 Stars

PRO: I am not a hard core rock fan. My last hard core rock LP purchase was in hey days of KISS and LED ZEP. I saw this disc at a trade show demo. I bought it because of the excellent drumwork track between Shannon and Sully. That particular track is a very good surround sound demo disc. After watching and listening to the track, I decided to watch the entire album. It's a very good album. I was impressed with how talented and grounded they were. These guys are "rocks stars" in their job but I was impressed with how focused they are. These are regular extremely talented individuals making a living to provide for their families. The only difference is God "smacked" them with talent, luck, and opportunity (pardon the pun) to show their craft and get paid for it. Very admirable.
