Movie Reviews of Gods of Wu TangMovie Review: Ugh Summary: 2 Stars
2 masters of magic and kung fu have been rivals their whole life. But they are friendly rivals. I should have realized right away this was going to be bad. I am not much into friendly kung fu movies. The cast includes Norman Chu (Rebellious Reign), Fung Hak-on (Last Hurrah for Chivalry) and Sonny Yue (Shanghai 13). Sonny Yue was one of the big reasons I wanted to see this. As far as I know he only made about 4 movies in his short career and he tore the screen up in Shanghai 13. Well, this is his worst performance of his career. He barely gets to do anything. The other reason I was excited to see this is because Wilson Tong (Snake Deadly Act) and the Yuen Clan choreograph the action. All that I got was a few good fights in this light hearted comedy, and the final fight is not the hardcore kung fu action I was looking for. Its far being the worst kung fu movie I have seen, but just not that enjoyable. Check out Shaolin Drunkard and/or Taoism Drunkard if you want to see some really crazy stuff. Just don't waste your time with this movie.
2/5
Picture on the Xenon DVD is full screen and bad quality, but still watchable.
